If the name on the car is "Aztek" I might have to agree.
Right, but we don't have a GT3-RS here in the States, so you can't just convert Euro to $$$. So, I just did some price comparisons with the standard GT3, which we do have, to get the price. The RS goes for basically 18% more than a standard GT3. And here in the states, a GT3 cost exactly $100k. So IF the GT3-RS was sold here in the US, it would be about $118k, give or take. Either way, thats a big difference than the $145k some people were quoting.
Oh, you can get an RSR, thats no problem. Lots of those sold here in the States. But, since thats the race version of the RS, its not street legal. And, neither would the RS be, even if you bought one. Own it, fine. But, go to a dealer, sign some paperwork, and drive it home???? Nope.DriftsterWell technically you COULD get a GT3-RSR for 1 dollar...on Ebay....but that's besides the point
JNasty4G63Right, but we don't have a GT3-RS here in the States, so you can't just convert Euro to $$$.
DriftsterSince when does buying a car based out of name/status mean you have "Mental issues"?
HA, we should be happy we even get the GT3, let alone the RS. We didn't get the GT3 for a few years when it initially came out. But, as to why we don't get the RS, its basically the same situation as the M3 CSL. They are very low production cars, and the costs to get them federalized here in the states just wouldn't be worth it, what with all our crash, emissions, and other standards.ElegyWhat's wrong with the RS, anyway? Why isn't it being offered here?
Something similiar to the 959s except you had to buy them overseas.JNasty4G63Oh, you can get an RSR, thats no problem. Lots of those sold here in the States. They're just a small part of that crowd though, as are the Anti-British people that there are as many of. I'm glad to come back here today and see it's become a proper discussion at last 👍 people let's keep it this way.ElegyWell, I still wouldn't go so far as to say "mental issues", but I'm not too crazy about those sorts of people either. Especially since many of the anti-American car folks also come from that crowd.

Would they sell??? Hell yes. But, for the company to go through all the trouble to get all that done, it wouldn't do anything but waste money.

Well, both are very small production cars. And both are just lighter, higher tune versions of a current road car. Most people would be fine with a standard GT3, or a standard M3. The extra stuff you get on a CSL or RS is really minimal unless you track your car EVERY week. Then, maybe its worth it. But, other than that, they just cost too much more.JCE3000GTThe difference between the GT3 and M3 CSL is I would want the CSL brought across the pond. That car has probably more appeal over here I think.
All I can find is price in pounds. Standard M3 goes for 41k, while the CSL went for 59k when it was sold, a whopping 44% jump. Thats a lot. Granted, its a lot of car. But, thats a big stack of sheets to drop on an M3.JCE3000GT.....What's a M3 CSL cost in Euro over there?
Yes, but the mods lower the price don't they?neanderthalAFAIK bill gates and jerry seinfeld pushed for the 959 to be legal and now you can legally drive one here as long as you make some minor mods to it.
Well, you can say that about either of those cars. My point being that, while they are much higher performing machines over their standard version, unless you track your car a lot, the added work put into them isn't really doing you any good. Yes, they are both limited cars, and that does have some value. But, everything put into them was done so to make them faster, lighter, and handle better. For the average driver, thats meaningless.live4speedWith the CSL you were paying for owning one of a limited run as well, but it was a lot faster than the M3.
I never said an M3 was limited. I said the CSL and RS versions are limited, not the M3 and GT3 they're based on.live4speedI agree with the part about the track, but M3's arn't that limited, CSL's are but theres plenty of M3's around.

JCE3000GT41,000 GBP is $71,987.83 USD which is a freaking STEAL! I'd take the CSL over just about any $60k-100k car with the exception of the M5 obviously.Dodge Viper? No thanks, I'll takes me M3 CSL and spank that ass.

neanderthalyou're obviously on crack.
im one of the biggest propellor fans out there, but even i know an M3 has no business messing with a viper. id say only the M3 GTR race car could have a chance against a viper.
