Hmmmm, AMG for the win..? The Corvette is good performance for your $, but again how much better would it be with a proper power output from such a large engine? I just hope the C7 when it comes out is completely redesigned and has popup headlights. If it has at least a Cadillac trim'd interior, IRS, and enough room for me to fit comfortably I will like it. If it fails in any of these ...then EPIC FAIL.

Corvette has had IRS for 45 years. I doubt that will be a problem.

On pointless measurements: One can hardly use the SL class as a beacon of amazing HP/L.

I don't think pop-ups will be making a comeback anytime soon or anytime for that matter. The Cadillac-like interior would be nice, but I would only expect it on a more expensive model like the ZR1. But yeah an upgraded interior package wouldn't package wouldn't be a bad idea.

The cost & danger pop-up headlights have, have pretty much caused manufacturers to consider them a thing of the past.
Wiki
US laws now permit aerodynamic headlamps, relative to which hidden headlamps represent added cost, weight, and complexity as well as reliability concerns as cars age. Internationalized ECE auto safety regulations have also recently incorporated pedestrian-protection provisions restricting protuberances from car bodies, making it more difficult and expensive to design compliant pop-up headlamps.

Thus, pop-up headlights are dead, esp. in this time when all manufacturers are watching how they spend their money.

Hmmm, a small lead for the SL? Frankly, I'm surprised. But, this is why Democracy is so interesting...

Dude, we are not in the 90's no more, we are in cyborg century, things are getting more advanced now, so say bye bye to those pop-up headlights and say hello to sweet technology.

I voted for the SL65. Don't know about the black series, but the SL is more comfortable on the inside than the C6.

Oh, and pop-up headlights are stupid.

The 90's? Hidden headlamps have been around since the 1940's.

It also has nothing to do with technology, but rather the cost of manufacturing them.

Yeah but since we're getting smarter every year on cars, we would know that cars don't need those pop-up lights no more, cars got to look more high-tech inside and out as time flys by. putting pop-up headlights on a car at this year is considered to go in the junkyard.

Dude, its not about NEED. Its about LOOKS. Cars look cooler with them. Esprit, Corvette, Trans-Am, NSX, RX7, 3000GT/GTO, Supra, and the list goes on. Remember, coolness and not for function.

I always thought the C5 Vette's looked a lot better with the aftermarket Le Mans style light conversion. Pop up head lights never did it for me on anything other then the later models of the Trans Am.

What about the Esprit and NSX? To me the popups basically nailed the car's love for me.

I liked the NSX better with the aero headlamps better and I've always though the Espirt looked goofy. They just don't do it for me because when they are on I think they ruin the lines of the car.

The NSX and the Esprit are gone, discontinued, obsolete

That wasn't even the point to my statement. 👎 By your definition every car that's not being made any longer is obsolete--that means things like the Carrera GT, F40, McLaren F1, Enzo, any classic car, M3 CSL (and the list goes on) are not worth your time eh?

No, I was trying to say that car manufacturers don't pay attention to cars that are out of production when it comes to competition and the M3 is still going current, I don't know about the CSL model since they haven't made one out of the new M3. So your idea of bringing back pop-up headlights are ignored in current car competition. Don't get me wrong pop-up headlights are cool but those days are over.

A manufacturer can still build a car with hidden headlamps. All it would take is incorporating them into the design. The only problem is the costs afterward.

And no, most cars today look nothing like that. Not even most sports cars look anything like that.

So, explain why GM kept trying to say the ZR1 was as fast as the Carrera GT, a $440,000 car that's been out of production for almost 3 years now.

What ZR1?

Think he means that one.

Thank you Famine, and Reventon, I think they used the Carrera GT as a benchmark, or America is trying to prove that they can make a really fast car, and suprisingly 4 times cheaper than the Carrera GT. I would expect it to be at least 6 times more than that. That's a good money value, but wait, if people only see this car as a bargin price for supercar, then it'll be a disaster.

You guys can argue about looks until you're blue in the cheeks.

Besides, none of this conversation has anything to do with C6 v. SL65B

I still fail to comprehend how a car which has not been reviewed or driven by any magazine/TV Programmes can be beating a car which has been, for all we know the SL65B could be a complete engineering let down.

Yeah, and i've voted for it by mistake thinking it was the CLK63 Black Series which has been reviewed and is a good car. :dunce:

If i'd voted for the Vette, which i would have done had i actually properly read the short nominees list, the cars would be tying on 38 votes each. :dunce: :dunce:

Can't a moderator fix this if you ask them?:scared:

Yes we can. If asked.

Famine, could you please fix TheCracker's error?

Or does he need to ask?

Yes please, and while you're at it could you fix Alex., Appie, Arkangel, bennyrrr, Blackbird., Danachronism, forza2.0, G.T, gator of kana, GT Pro, Jackington, jacoja08, JCE, JER_CREST, killer450235, kimkafwan, Leonidae, MustangSVT, Muzaffar Musa, neanderthal, nitro_2005, Omnis, Perfect Balance, Philly, Reventón, rollazn, rovens, Serge.D, slidesquad#1, Stevisiov., stumpydino, Thatman, Thirdeye, Toronado, Turbo Lag, V1P3R, Wolfe and zed300's mistakes too - they've clearly all voted for the wrong car by accident too.

So long as you seen that post and you were just having a laugh, then yes, perhaps they should be more careful before they start pressing mouse buttons.
