Overall, I like it, but it rings too much of Alfa Romeo and the Scion Tc to me. It also seems to exude a bit too much of an "athletic" look for what it is.
 
That may be why the guys here are calling for RWD and maybe more power. I guess the looks might make them think Honda is more or less serious about making an aggressive car.
 
It'd be great if they made a Type-R version with a beefy V6 and SHAWD.
 
I'm still trying to decide what to say.

The lines are wonderful, yes, but it screams too much "New Ford" or "Hyundai Sonata" to me. Lose the cheap grille and the awful tailpipe fascia (seriously... was that the best they could come up with?) and it'll be perfect.

RE: FWD handle? Heaven forfend! Especially not the Accord! Especially not since the Euro R it spawned (earlier) or the TSX built off of it actually handle pretty niftily! Oh, wait... I've got to can the sarcasm... this is the US Accord, right? :lol: As long as they finally fix the electric steering (still don't like it, man...) or at least offer a hydraulic rack for the "sporty" versions, I'd be happy.

Oh, you know they're going to put electric steering on this. It's inevitable.

Look like a weird bastard child of a couple of Kia's, a BMW 3 Series Coupe, and a Hyundai Tiburon.

Can't say it pushes the buttons.
 
The Audi TT is a fact, this new Accord is just a concept. As we all know, there will not be much left of this concept. I hope they will keep much of the design of this concept and make it available in Europe too.

Are you guys serious? :odd: Audi design looks so much better and cleaner to me. The new Accord though, it looks like one of those cars that I have to see it in person to see how they actually look in person.

Audi design in general is very clean and sharp and very good. The new TT though just looks a little wrong in the metal to me, it's a good car but I've seen quite a lot of them around and they justs don't quite click with me.

A good guess is that the "bean counters" over at Honda will go over the concept with a fine-tooth comb, and what was once 9/10ths as a concept will probably be turned down to 7/10ths as a production car. However likely it may be for Honda to keep the current design direction, it is neither outstandingly aggressive, nor outstandingly offensive. I personally like the looks of the car, very Mondeo-esque (thats a good thing, sadly we don't have the Mondeo in America), however complaints are starting to come in. Apparently, this doesn't have enough "Honda" in it to really be considered one. I suppose I can see where they are coming from, as this kinda looks more like the Ridgeline than the Civic or the Fit.

...I'd like to see it in person before saying anything solid about it. Added to that, I want to see the sedan version as well. I often get the feeling that it may look better in person...

As for going to Europe, that is something that I do not have an answer for. If there is a market for mid-size, FWD coupes in Europe, it could happen... But I think we are all waiting for Honda to decide if they want to keep the Accord split up, or bring the models back together.
 
The TSX ate the 3-series coupe! And then stole a ford grille and rubbed in a little lexus. And a CL rear end.

Looks pretty good though, especially compared to the sports car that screams corvette in front and ugly in back
 
Those bean counters actually let the Civic slip through nearly unmolested. This looks much more production ready than the Civic did, so I don't see it as changing much.

But it should. It needs a bit more refinement before getting the full green light from me.
 
Just saw this...and I love the beefy look. I could seriously dig the styling direction Honda is heading in.

Well, thats the new Accord allright. I don't know if I'm fond of the Ridgeline-esque grille, but overall, it isn't a bad looking car. It looks very European, in a new Mondeo sort of way, which is indeed a good thing. I'm very interested in the interior, which I have yet to see.

I still assume most of the engines and transmissions carry over from the previous car, however I'm certain that a six-speed is going to become standard fare across the board.

I still like the Accord, as quite frankly, its the only thing Honda really has going for them at the moment...
 
Wow, I love both cars. It's about time we see the reemergence of sharp styling. My only wish is that the coupe kept the concept's tail lights.

The sedan looks like a cross between the Acura RL and the Hyundai Sonata, while the coupe looks like a Civic blown up to 89 psi.

Either way, I don't think either of these are going to Europe, unless I'm mistaken. I guess it would depend on just how large the Mondeo really is.

Those are Camry-Sonata headlights, a Sonata grille and Mondeo-ish lines.

Still... It looks good, except for the grille. It's like coming to the front of the new Camaro and finding a piece of cardboard stuck there (which there isn't). Extremely cheap looking. Everything else looks fine. A little anonymous, but fine.

Yeah and the Sonata is a copy of the 04' Accord...

Most of Hondas products do really good. Knowing Honda's past with there Civic and Accords... This should sell really well.
 
These are the first Accord models that I have ever liked based on styling. They both look great. The coupe actually looks down-right cool. The only gripe I have is that the rear of the sedan looks too much like the rear of a Saturn Aura.
 
Front looks like the new Mitsu EVO X, rear like an audi A6 and the whole car like a Lexus....Looks pretty damn good to me 👍 (Did I just say I like...a Honda?!)

On the Accord...why do those pics of the gray car look like retouched spy shots? Headlights especially. It can't possibly look THAT photoshopped....

the red one looks a little better. Might be 'cause that's the coupe. In fact, I see nothing wrong with using the coupe nose across the lineup, I like it better.

I guess that's one way to sell midsize coupes...make the sedan look bad.

That aside, I actually prefer the European Toyota's to the US ones, generally. I actually really like how the Aygo looks... and hope we get the Auris here.

Those new Accords are okay looking, if a bit vague. Coupe rear looks bleh to me, but I'll hold off till I see one in person. But it also looks mildly photoshopped.
 
I could do a Passat mention here if you wish, but I usually don't stick that car with the Accord too frequently. The big differences in attitude keep them apart in my book, the Accord being like your average middle-class family car, while the Volkswagen tends to appeal more to the upper-middle-class types, the ones who can actually afford Ralph Lauren and such. Sure, I love my German as much as others in the class, but there is a lot of love to go around in what is pretty much my favorite segment (family sedans).

I love the current Accord, mostly because they offer a stick in it, and furthermore, its actually quite nice to drive on occasion (I drove an earlier EX V6). This new Accord, I hope, keeps up the sportier nature of the car by comparison to the average Toyota, but you never know. Nissan has managed to keep the Altima a sporty car, but then they took away the manual transmissions, which pains me ever so greatly.

I keep hoping that Mazda does well with the 6, as that is yet another model that I like in its current generation. Given the Mondeo-based roots, one hopes for a good car.
 
I see Hyundai and BMW influence. While it looks promising and ugly at the same time, I think I'm going to fall in love with this car, eventually. Historically, it's taken me a while to warm up to some Honda designs, but when I do, I end up really liking it, respecting it. You know that new CR-V? GTPlanet(myself included) pretty much agreed that SUV was one of the ugliest automobiles around. Today, I consider it one of the best looking SUVs around(How about you guys?).

P.S. I still do hate the looks of the current Accord though. Great car. Really ugly(especially with the updated rear).

Too bad they don't make RSX's anymore. I just realized that they never made a sedan version of that car either. Now, that would've been interesting.......
