Well, seeing as no-one else has put it up, let's get everyone's views on the upcoming Spanish GP. Massa's now on form after winning in Bahrain, but it's Kimi who leads the championship from Heidfeld and Hamilton. Lewis suffered a bad weekend but says he's now learned from his mistakes and is ready to fight back.

The recent 4 day test in Barcelona saw teams such as Honda and Renault try out new aero parts, and Ferrari debuted the nose-hole. Whether we'll see them use it remains to be seen.

So, predictions?

have someone noticed that the Spanish track looks like an hat? lol

Moar like a sombrero that's been stood on.

My predictions:

Pole: Massa
Race:

Massa
Raikkonnen
Alonso
Kovalainen
Hamilton

I can't call it. No one driver has exhibited any kind of consistency. However, there are now three teams vying for supremacy with BMW just in there. In testing Alonso fired off one hell of a lap on slick tires. My hopes are with Renault, but realistically I can't form a opinion until Free Practice. Looks like this might be a wet race. Thanks Nitro, for getting 'thread' up in time. Alonso hopes to put on a "beautiful show", I sure could use one...

No idea what's going to happen, just hoping for another best of the rest performance from Trulli 👍

Well, this is a toughie.....

Its going to be another Ferrari domination if anything like last year go by.... I don't see McLaren having a better package that Ferrari right now (but I could be wrong) and with Massa on a roll right now, nobody is going to bet hes going to win again in Barcelona. Another hopeful to watch is BMW, not sure if they got a good aero package for this track, but if all goes well, they could put up a fight with the top 2. 👍

Alonso and Renault would just do their utter best to get into the points, and thats pretty much it about them. Oh yeah, the forecast for Saturday and Sunday could be rain, so its anyones guess who's going to be on top. But most of all, could all these drivers drive without aids during that condition? :D

Barcelona has always been a challenging track to me in my racing game experience. The first corner alone begins the madness. You don't really begin to enjoy top speed except for coming out of Turn 9. La Caixa (Turn 10) is just as crucial to get right as Turn 1. That new chicane at Turns 14 and 15 are still very new to me. Actually, the Turn 10 and 11 complex is new to me as well. Almost as if the track designer made La Caixa even more challenging. All in all, it's one of the best race tracks in Spain along with Valencia and Jarama.

I know Fernando Alonzo is a huge favorite. While I don't have a favorite to win it, I'm sure the Spanish fans know who to cheer for.

Muz- you've brought up driving with no aids in the rain. That could be the deciding factor... It could very well be worse than Nurburgring last year with cars going everywhere. Interesting.

Fixed:)

Edit:

^*chuckle* Given all the variables I've seen, I let it pass...
I almost forgot... will the Spanish fans behave? Will Lewis Hamilton get a warm reception?

Anyone know if Super Aguri is going to make the grid this race? As for my prediction:

Massa and Hamilton fighting for the pole.

A big chaotic mess in the rain for the race.

Should be fun to watch.

I've read they, SA, plan to show up. I must admit that I'm no fan of that team but do admire their persistence. Post# 11- Indeed.

I've seen pictures of one of their cars with just the bare minimum on it (monocoque, engine, etc) and of two SA mechanics pushing stacks of tyres, so they are there, and it looks like they do intend to take part, but Honda have given them a deadline of tomorrow to come to a deal with Magma Group.

No. I just saw them McLaren workers shouted, whistled and boo'ed at by a couple (A bunch, rather. A BIG crowd.) of Spanish spectators. And another two holding a sign that read "We're not racist - We're Alonsist.", in clear reference to Hamilton.

Have any of you guys felt like you live surrounded by stupid people? Because I do. 👎

They said they're not racist... what gives? I find it remarkable there exists a driver whose 'driving' is so skillful it ignites such passion previously unseen. I don't apologize for their behavior, I embrace it! Fernando Alonsoooooooooo! Alonsist, that's just priceless...

HA! HA! Apple juice produced to 'Ron Dennis personal specification'! Hilarious, thanks for the find Nitro 2005, and for getting this 'thread' going...
tea & cakes, HA!

Are you ok:sick:

I'm in a sporting mood after darkfinal's post. Seems Spanish fans really know how to support their Hero. Best news I've had since Alonso's hot lap in testing... Thanks for your 'concern' though. How are you?
( for SpeedTV viewers coverage begins at 7:00cst Friday a.m. ) ENJOY!

I'm go to go out on a limb and say BMW will Ferrari in the top three.

in the rain, predictions are more like blind guesses

True. Nevertheless, Sureshot is most likely correct. But I'm hoping for Renault to make an improvement putting them ahead of Red Bull/Renault, Williams, Toyota. It would be a beginning ...

If it rains Kimi or Lewis will probably win. If it’s dry the fight will probably be between Kimi and Massa.

Muz- you've brought up driving with no aids in the rain. That could be the deciding factor... It could very well be worse than Nurburgring last year with cars going everywhere. Interesting.

Again, the Nurburgring was not regular aquaplaning. Regular aquaplaning is something every driver can adapt to. What happened at the Nurburgring was the bottom of the cars aquaplaning, which is effectively like driving a block of ice - the wheels lose contact with the ground. That doesn't happen in a regular wet-race, as wet tyres (unlike Intermediates) have a wider radius (exactly because of that phenomena - and to compensate), and because teams set up the cars higher for wet races. The Nurburgring's wetness just came as a complete surprise.

Umm rear horns?

They've been there since Australia. ;)

On motorhomes, you seen the size of Force India's motorhome?!

Vijay can afford it :p

Gonna be dry, according to most forecasts.
