Nah the GT is sloppy already. Manthey is smooth and collected. Quality driving already, damn the traffic dodging was cool.
 
Hmm I may have to throw GT4 on...

GT3 spec cars are actually quite comparable to a V8 Supercar, it's just that most, if not all, the Australian GT teams are privateers and gentlemen racers. And perhaps Nürburgring is a better circuit for the GT class car.

Here are some comparisons between Allan Simonsen's F430 GT3 and the lap records held by V8 Supercars:

Sandown
  • V8 Supercar: 1'10.8
  • F430 GT3: 1'11.5
Symmons Plains
  • V8 Supercar: 0'52.0
  • F430 GT3 (old engine): 0'52.6
Adelaide Street Circuit
  • V8 Supercar: 1'22.4

True, and interesting. I thought the old Carrera Cup was GT3 spec, they were normally just a few sec behind V8 SCs. I think that V8 SCs should update their vehicles, move with the times.

I actually thought the same too, until I saw the Cup S which is currently running in the Australian GT. The Carrera Cup cars are no where near it, even when it had extra ballast.

So they're roughly similar in pace then:tup:, that doesn't answer where the Holden is in-class now though.:lol: All I know is it's not top 16 (I can still only conclude that the Holden must have fairly slow drivers). For the record, live streaming doesn't work on my crappy connection.


EDIT: Do any Aussies know if it's on digital TV? Or if there will be a highlights show tomorrow or something?
 
Do Manthey only have the one GT3 RSR and the rest being GT3 Cups?

the justin tv stream i posted earlier is a little bit lesser quality, and has commercials, but is not oversaturated like the official stream and is smooth

I think there may be some weather problems around the ring. RLM and the Direct Stream keep cutting out for me at the same time or it may be my Interent connection but I doubt that as it was streaming both fine earlier.
 
I will be watching the stream later, its a shame I am missing out now. :(

Sounds like a good race so far, hopefully there isn't a massive field spread by the time I get round to watching it.

sorry Paulie the live feeds only show the top 30, I've had a quick look around and cannot find the full list anywhere

Your Holden was 30th a minute ago, but is no longer on the list (top 30 only), replaced by the Osram Ford GT.
