I already know about the GT1 class Nissan GT-R being prepared for FIA GT. I figured maybe they would have a two tier, two car program similar to what Porsche did by having the RS Spyder and 997 GT3 RSR. I can't exactly see Nissan de-tuning a GT-R to run in GT2 class after all...

That is a good point in all, but there is a big problem. Back in the early 2000's, RJN Motorsport tried to develop a 350Z for N-GT/GT2. There was a big problem, IT FAILED. The car DNF'd in most in not all races the team entered it in. And also it was very slow, like Primetime Race Group in 2008 slow.

Beside the point, I think the car had more potentional in GT3 than in GT2, but with the 370Z, RJN now have a chance to redem themselves in a new class. Even though they are successful in GT4 (the class duh) i think.

So yea Nissan only in GT1 in 2010. And almost no team use the RS Spyder, Except for Horag Racing and Team Goh.

No, they aren't the mystery team because various vids and articles at the ALMS site said that the Manufacture will announce their Plans at 12 hours of Sebring.

To Venom800tt, I don't think it's Nissan because remember that there was some photos of a Nissan GT-R being tested for GT-1.

If that´s the case, I´d say we´re looking at a possible Spyker entry. If not, another Porsche/Ferrari is a good bet.
I don´t think Nissan is ready for any racing yet. They´ve said that the GTR will only appear at a few chosen FIA GT races in 2009, and race full attack in FIA GT in 2010.

Have a look at this:

Looks like Audi will bring their R15 stateside at Sebring this year. We'll get a better idea as to what they come up with. At least from this, it's a bit vague to tell what this R15 will look like. Audi basically dominated this entire decade of sportscar racing, so you know Audi will be the giants to take down this season.

Can't say I didn't see that coming when it was first announced they wouldn't do a full season campaign in 2009. Its a good we will see it though.

yes, but, since it'll only be raced two, maybe three times (sebring, lemans and petit lemans?) it'll never see its full potenial.

I dont think P1 will be the challenge it was if Audi is gone full time in the US. It might be better racing, but you know there will be a faster car out there. Im watching all the videos on the ALMS site and Im starting to get antsy to go to Sebring! Anyone know if Corvette will be the only ones in GT1?

I found out today that one of creation's LMPs is in the Heathrow airport's impounds because the duty hasnt been paid  Apparently been there for weeks, perhaps they plan to take it back out to the USA soon, where the other car is? (the completely crunched one)

Prelimanary entry list.

A Preliminary list of the 12 hours of Sebring. Personally, this is what you expect in the list. Its a shame the Black Swan isn't here. Speaking of Falken tire, the Falken Tire team is on the list... Weird.

Kind of a smallish field....Black swan? P2 looks to be suffering without the Porsches and maybe some smaller teams, GT1 is the same joke different day.

hoping GT1 fills in a bit. apparently a Ford GT and a ferrari 550 are rumored to have applied for one of the slots. and im sure we can expect the saleens from last year and that lambo that didnt fair well im sure will come back. so thats at least 5 people plus the ford and ferrari gt1 might have a decent battle but just wont feel right with out Aston Martin in the field.

There hasnt been a lambo at Sebring for the last several years. The Ford GT races in GT2. If a 550 entered, its probly an old car and wont fare very well. When was the last Saleen entry? I havent seen one at Sebring since 06 I think. GT1 makes me angry cause its the fastest production class but noone will enter it. The Astons were fast when they were factory backed, but the privateer teams cant keep up with the Vettes. When this economic mess figures itself out, the manufacturers need to get some higher class entries going, not just dabble (or completely rape the competition) in the lower classes. Its like a 180lber boxing in the featherweight class. Porsche only staying in P2 and GT2 illustrates that. Why wont the big guys just build a top class car? Is there any glory in beating a team with 1/5th of your budget and manpower?

lol i just read that its the preliminary entry list for sebring not le mans. opps my bad :dunce:

I think that we can all say that a corvette only GT1 Sebring would be lame. If any other GT1 teams were to enter... I would think ARC Bratislava in their Saleen. Other than that, maybe a JLOC Lamborghini. And since someone said a Ferrari 550, then ACA Argentina.

doubt we will see any other GT1 for sebring unless one of the european teams come over to test there car for the season which i think is doubtfull to happen.
