 I completely missed that while watching that interview. Funny stuff.

I'm into 2 hours of the broadcast, which is just over one hour of racing, and so far the best thing that happened was the pass on the Peugeot by McNish around the Viper. That was excellent.

I hated Seabass when he raced IndyCars (since he never took responsibility for crashing Paul Tracy out of races), but he'd make us IndyCar fans proud if he won just 1 F1 championship!

Wow, so I just started watching my recording again with 6 hours 42 minutes left to go. The BMW just went behind the wall a bit ago. Bobby Rahal mentioned something about the oil tank, and the video footage obviously sounds like a "catastrophic engine failure", as the announcer said. I wonder if Rahal meant that the oil pump(s) failed, seizing the engine? Anybody hear the rest of the story? I won't be able to watch this whole thing tonight.

Told you Audi would get it done. I wasn't confident, but I just felt like Audi was going to be Audi. Of course, I have to show some love for Risi Competizione for winning in GT2. However, give Panoz some love for their GT2 podium finish. Finally, hats off to Adrian Fernandez and his team for winning in P2. I have lots of respect for Adrian Fernandez. Great win in P2.

I just hope the Lola-Mazdas can have much better luck the rest of the season.

Oh what a battle!

It was, but Marc made a dumb decision to me and he goes on the radio "What was that?". Why would you sqeeze someone that close to the wall knowing the track starts narrowing up practically at the bridge and knowing full well the guy being sqeezed is not willing to take a shunt?

Congrats also to former F1 driver Mika Salo for his 1st place finish in GT2 driving a Ferrari F430.

I laughed when I saw that. They did take it down after 3 or 4 seconds. ChampCar and F1 are pretty much the same, right? ;)

Racing season is open for business! I watched several hours of SPEED's coverage, and my brain was releasing wonderful endorphins the whole time. Racing = drug. I love the R15. It looks like it eats babies for breakfast, and that V10 sounds oh so sweet . Hopefully they'll return full-time next year.

I hope they return full time this year!

I cannot believe I watched most of my recording of this race, and DirecTV craps out just before the ending!

I'm canceling my service RIGHT NOW! Bastards.

Coverage on Speed was broken into 4 hour blocks. With a standard 2 hour sports extension on your DVR for the second block of coverage, the recording would end about an hour from the end of the race. Maybe this is what happened?

I watched the whole thing on Dish Network, and had no issues, except for needing to make sure both 4 hour segments were being recorded, and needing to switch to the second recording near the end.

Great race if only too predictable.Audi wins again. It seems like it what they always do. Looks like GT2 will where the action is.

Well, you couldn't really predict who was gonna win till the last 10 mins really as the lead kept going back and forth. Peugeot did almost everything right this time around, but Audi made the call that pretty made all the difference.

No, my guide data was lost and didn't record the show. I had all the blocks set to record, plus ALMS races are set to automatic record. However, since the guide data went FUBAR, it didn't record the last block. All previous blocks were recorded and watched, one being 5 hours long.

Yeah, switching from one block recording to another is no big deal; I do it all the time. I don't know why my guide data got lost, but it did. Right now, I have my guide data back, but I cannot tell track data. Once a prerecorded show starts, it shows "0:00" the whole time threw. Weird.

Oh, I couldn't cancel my service because my kids were away at Dodger Spring Camp and I recorded some games for them. They want to see if they made it on TV. If I cancel my service, you cannot watch any previous recorded shows. I'm still getting rid of the service, though. I've been waiting for Verizon for a long time and it's almost here.

What I plan to do is make the average, projected entry list for most events this year (non Laguna and no Petit Le Mans). And because I can, rumored teams and cars will be bold.

LMP1:
Patrón Highcroft Racing - Acura ARX-02a
Autocon Motorsports - Lola B06/10 AER
Intersport Racing - Lola B06/10 AER
de Ferran Motorsports - Acura ARX-02a
Creation Autosportif - Creation CA07 Judd (Mosport to the end of the season)
Mundill Racing - Pescarolo 01 Judd (Mosport to end of season)
Corsa Motorsport - Ginetta-Zytek 09S/H
Eco Racing - Radical SR10 (Road America to the End of the Season)

LMP2:
Lowe’s Fernandez Racing - Acura ARX-01b
Dyson Racing - Lola B08/80 Mazda (X2)
Team Cytosport - Porsche RS Spyder (Mid-Ohio to the end of the season)
Van Der Steur Racing - Radical SR9 AER (Lime Rock to the end of the season)

GT2:
Corvette Racing - Corvette C6.R GT2 (Mid-Ohio to the end of the season) (X2)
VICI Racing - Porsche 911 GT3 RSR (X2)
Primetime Race Group - Dodge Viper Competition Coupe
Panoz Team PTG - Panoz Esperante GTLM
Robertson Racing - Doran Ford GT-R
Flying Lizard Motorsports - Porsche 911 GT3 RSR (X2)
Risi Competizione - Ferrari F430 GT
Farnbacher Loles Motorsports - Porsche 911 GT3 RSR
Rahal Letterman Racing - BMW M3 GTR E92 (X2)
Rocketsports - Jaguar XKR GT2 (X2) (Mid-Ohio to End of Season)

I'm being a bit generous in areas, so if you think there is a mistake, tell me below.

The Corvettes probably won't be going to St. Petersburg as Long Beach is listed as the next race on their site.

Good race, liked seeing a battle for the overall lead as opposed to previous years. Everything else was pretty bleh, mainly to there being only 26 starting cars. Its almost a 4 mile track, there should be way more cars entering. Hopefully its just the economy and not just people losing interest in the ALMS.

17 cars currently for St.Pete. Corsa should announce plans soon for entering this race.

Evidence...

And some Patron GT3 cars will race at certian races of the year. Think of it as G3 for the ALMS. I just wish the GT3 challenge allowed more than just 911 GT3 Cups.

Ass you may know, this is because of the lackluster entrylists for these races. One of the main reasons I'm thinking is maybe the steep entry fee teams have to pay to race. If anyone could give me a exact amount that would be appreicated. Currently the most credible racing series that has the lowest Entry fee is the International GT Open, whom race GT2 and GT3 cars. It costs the equivalent of $3,322.63 to race once with one car there. Lowering the entry fee would attract more teams, if any.

Round 2 for the ALMS is in a few Minutes! Acura sweeps both LMP class poles again and Jaime Melo is on pole for GT2. And great news is no GT1 is hear today(whats the point if its just two cars?). Favorites for the win anyone?

This may seen like a stupid question, but...

I watched the race today, and I sat there wondering where Audi was. The announcers made no mention of them the entire race. Why did they not run at St. Pete's?

"There's no such thing as a stupid question, until you ask it"

Joking, anywho. Audi's Factory teams Pulled out of the ALMS and LMS in November due to the global economic downturn. They'll still race at Le Mans in the Audi R15. And Team Kolles will run the Audi R10 in the Le Mans Series in the mean time.

Boris is BACK!!!

The man, Boris Said, is back in a Corvette for a one race deal with LG Motorsports and their Riley Corvette GT2. The car has much potential since they got the 4th at St. Pete.

GREAT! I have great respect for Boris Said. He's such a person who just loves racing. And loves racing almost anything. Even supertrucks from the failed STRANA series. That's great for the ALMS.

I don't know how many of you are aware of this, but I strongly encourage all of you to check it out.

On iTunes right now for free there is a documentary called "Truth in 24" and it is the best documentary I have seen. It details Audi and their run at the 24 hours of Le Mans in 2008. Showing disappointments throughout the season, and how the team bounced back. It is about an hour and a half long, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

Every race fan should watch this.

From this week's Autosport:

'US Team to take Jaguar to Le Mans

Rocksetsports targets 2010 Le Mans 24 Hours with GT2 Jaguar XKR that will run in the ALMS later this year.'

He later mentions that it'll either debut at Lime Rock or Mid-Ohio.

Sweet! Do ya think you can get some photos of the Magazine page showing the quote?

Rocketsports are probably the best of the Trans-Am constructors, with a long history with both Jaguar and Ford.

Oh and the GP at Long Beach is this Week.

Awesome. Is that the Mysterious GT2 team that was repeatedly reffered to?
