Honestly, if the companies aren't at each other's throats for it, why should we be? They obviously don't think they're aping each other, or else there'd have been a nasty custody battle by now.

We've actually discussed this before. The modern interpretation of the grill has been held by both companies for nearly the same amount of time.

Btw, for those who dislike the mutated front of the G8 ST. Just sell the front bumper... make a bit of cash, and order a Holden front from over here. Much nicer, right? 👍

I wanted to do this with a GTO. My question is besides the front noise what else is different? Headlights, bonnet, fenders?

And the front 1/4 panels/fenders by the look of it, look closely at the outer edge of the headlight on the fender.

The quarter panels look fine IMO. But the Bonnet will also need changing, because the nose end of the G8 ST's hood is still shaped for the Pontiac grill.

I'm sure there's someone who is willing to do a switcharoo.

We knew it was on the bubble, but just moments ago, Pontiac told dealers they plan to kill the Pontiac G8 ST. Yup, GM's killed the El Camino. Again.

Really, ever since we saw the Pontiac G3, we kind of knew the brand was moving away from the direction the brand deserved to be and into...well...something else. We also knew the new coming of the El Camino was on the ropes. So the news today from our sources with knowledge of the arrowheaded brand's product direction wasn't entirely unexpected.

The General's recent cash problems only heightened the reality. We're disappointed, of course, but we were more disappointed when the news came out the pickup-truck-ized G8 wasn't going to get the El Camino name plate. Well, it's over. Guess we can cross the G8 ST off our list of cars we want to buy in the new year. We're going to go and hit up CraigsList

I think some of us knew it was coming, some of us not so much. I was still under the impression that it would happen, but without any kind of official confirmation by GM itself, its still a bit of a rumor.

*sigh*

So, whats left to hope for at Pontiac? There are still rumors of a G8 Coupe (ie, GTO) and we're still waiting to hear if they'll make the G6 go RWD after Cadillac's Alpha car shows up. Maybe.

Oh well. At least we have the G8, for now...

I'm 6'4 and I like sitting in the back seat of the G8 better than the front. They need to perfect the G8 before they offer any variations of it.
