If the pit lane is faster, why not just drive through it all the time? Or do you have to stop when you enter the pit lane?

OneHD advert

What is the penalty for?

Unsafe pit release, he went straight through the force india pit, taking out air guns and airlines while almost taking out another car!

It isnt faster, it just isnt such a big time difference compared to other circuits.

Now THAT'S how you overtake, Michael. Good run on Petrov by Schumacher... all the way back in the teens.

Alonso now pulling back up on Hamilton as the tire differential starts to go the other way, but as they're now on similar tires, I don't think he'll be able to find a way past him before they both pit. Hamilton has ruined his chances of sticking with Webber... for now.

EDIT: Never mind. Hamilton's tires shot.

And Kobayashi's race piles disappointment upon disappointment. Engine blows.

And Paul di Resta's chances at a good result go down the tubes as his pit crew fall asleep.

Vettel doesn't have the tire temps yet.

Hamilton might be able to take Alonso, he might not. It's all about tire preservation now. But it looks like Alonso has the pace to take the race... it's his to lose now.

What a shame about Vettel's race. While I wanted to see him challenged, I would rather have it be a case of better strategy / driving rather than a stuck wheel nut!

Silverstone, you don't disappoint... this is an absolute nail-biter...

The drs is a bit of a gimme here! Vettel will do lewis, but whether he gets Alonso, not too sure, if he does, a well earned win.

Hamilton has older tires than Alonso and Vettel, and he's driving the wheel nuts off his car just to keep up. Vettel has the freshest tires of the three by far.

Webber may win because even when he made a mistake and lost time he is gaining it back fast.
