I actually got a penalty for the same thing from my karting days. I guess its an FIA blanket rule. In karting you get 15 minutes.

Slight tweaks to the regulations are being introduced:

Defending drivers will now be obligated to leave a car width of space on the outside of a corner when they rejoin the racing line. This is to prevent them from pushing other drivers off the circuit (ie Schumacher/Hamilton in Italy, Buemi/Heidfeld in Germany).

Stewards will also have the power to issue reprimands alongside drive-through penalties. This way, if a driver keeps getting drive-throughs, the stewards can give him a grid penalty after his third reprimand. Are you paying attention, Lewis?
 
I think RBR already stop updating the car secretly or those super soft and soft combination on rough track makes them slower. :dopey:

Redefining moment of Hamilton's career?
 
After 15 sessions, now we're seeing somebody else sitting for pole position. All credits to Hamilton for not repeating his mistake in Japan but it's not over yet. Tomorrow is where it counts and hopefully he'll be good....

Vettel isn't that far away though. Anyway did anybody see Vettel missed corner 5 by taking a shortcut on the way back to the pit in Q3 around the 5th minute of the session? Is that allowed?

I think so. DC and Martin Brundle didn't complain about it, so I guess it's OK.

Quite epic.

I wanted Button there, but it will be interesting to see the start of the race, without Vettel on the front maybe the front pack wont spread out so quickly, something that will bring a bit of a show.

If the time didn't intervene with the qualifying time, it's allowed.
But he have improve his time by the last minute, no penalty should impose.
 
Button's own chassis has a problem so he's using the spare, one that Lewis has used.

Haha, think we need to see how he does in the race first. See if he can put a whole weekend together for once. Good for him though for taking pole.👍 He doesn't seem to happy about it though.:odd:

Interested to see if McLaren can match Red Bull during the race and want to see a team start pushing Red Bull and Vettel. Their domination has been nothing short of amazing this season, but I'd like to see some dog fights for the win(maybe this weekend, McLaren seems to have the speed).

Yeah I'm thinking penalty is not necessary but it's just strange he chose to go with that route...

Anyway, Lewis seems to look a bit - stressed in the press conference?

So if tomorrow we're seeing a wet race, I'm expecting the McLarens to be very strong but if it's dry, we're going to see an epic race between the RBs, Ferraris and McLarens! However, the forecast predicted that it may be a dry race...

Please. One flying lap does not exonerate Hamilton from a season of sloppy mistakes. So don't go giving him too much credit - it's a start on the road to recovery, but he's still got a lot of ground to make up. It's not the "redefining moment of his career". It is, at best, the redefining moment of his month.

Talking about the track, it looks like there is almost no change at all compared to last year. Thought that there should be some buildings as they're actually going to build a new city around the circuit. Expected to see some major improvements, instead something similar to last year...

Steve Slater mentioned that the track was closed after last year's GP and only to be open back a couple of weeks before this weekend's race...

You know, reading that is like reading about the abandoned city of Pripyat due to the Chernobyl where everything was left untouched...

Just my speculation though, if the track is not going to be improved by next year, we could see another Magny Cours... :nervous:

They seems not to care about this circuit. It's sad. Really. This circuit have some potential!

And i could agree more, we could get another Magny Cours but this circuit have way too beautiful scenery than Magny. :p

Now that's not a good thing to happen after winning the championship if it's meant that he's getting a penalty... I'll just leave this to the stewards. Thanks for letting us know though! ;)

Like M5 had just said it was on minute 5 rather than the last second tussle. :odd:
Either way, i'm going to listen to the steward reasons.

Hence, the question mark. It was a question not a statement. Will have too see, I'm sure he will cause more trouble before he starts winning consistently again.
