Sorry if I spoiled it... Mark Martin won the Nationwide race at Las Vegas. However, Danica Patrick finished 4th at Vegas. Her 4th place finish is the best finish by a female driver in [the series now known as NASCAR] Nationwide.
Love or loathe Danica, at least admit she has at least SOME talent. The one thing I've learned about Danica is that she seems to do better on longer ovals than she does shorter ones. Where did she win in IndyCar? Motegi- a superspeedway. She's placed very well at Indy for the Indy 500. So I think if she's going to win in Nationwide, it may likely be on a long oval. The one concern is that she graduated from the old Toyota Atlantics series, which is predominantly road racing. Her road racing has been rather modest except for that one time at Belle Isle in IndyCar when she finished 2nd (if my history serves me well).
Matt Kenseth on pole for the Cup race at Vegas with 188.884 mph. Rest of the grid (2-10): Marcos Ambrose, Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle, Kyle Busch (hometown boy), Joey Logano, A.J. Allmendinger, Ryan Newman, Martin Truex Jr., and Mark Martin. Who you got winning Vegas in Cup?
