Vickers, you nuffer... Dale Jr turns Ambrose, Marcos gets on with it. Marcos touches up Vickers into the other RB car (help me out here) so Vickers turns into Marcos. Child.
Seriously, are these guys racers or little kiddies (at times) throwing the rattle out of the crib?

Well Jr took the blame for Ambrose and the two of them are friends and have respect. Vickers is always a baby about things yet never shows results.

LOL Jr came out of pits third!!! and his car looks like utter hysteria

Hey, question for you guys. Whats the coverage like there? Not sure if its the same there as it is here. Here we're getting commercial breaks quite regulary..

We're not getting them that often at least not me...but since there are a lot more cautions so more commercial breaks will happen.

Call me crazy but after hearing what TRD said about the Red Bull cars some time ago, I think there could be a possibility JGR might have themselves some cars. There has been some interest in them expanding and with JGR now building their cars as well as their interest in expanding to Truck series and adding additional Nationwide cars, it would fit in their plan(if it were to happen anyway).

"I got your number! I got your number!"

Yeah, it's 22. :sly:

(Unless that was Kurt on the radio, then it's 48) :dunce:

Oh, and what a lame attempt to take out Kurt! Jimmie got the worse end of it!

Got to love short track racing! I haven't seen every last moment of this event, but this looks like typical NASCAR short track insanity. Boy... quite a hectic way to try to make the Chase if you're on the outside looking in. Otherwise, you'll have to settle for the 2012 Chase.

One thing I read on Speed Channel's bottom line (which looks too much like ESPN's Bottom Line graphics) is that the Trucks will NOT race at Darlington in 2012, but they will race at Rockingham. It's great to see Rockingham being raced again by at least one of NASCAR's top three Touring Series.

Meanwhile... ANOTHER caution. I think it's the 12th one as Virginia's own Jeff Burton got into some trouble.

You have to realize that Jimmie said last month that if people want to race hard then he'll return the favor. If he saw it from our end it looked like Kurt has a lock up. A classic event that happens at this track every year.

I really thought Edwards was going to be able to get by Harvick at the end, but it was still a very exciting finish even with no lead change. Actually, most of the race was quite suspenseful because of the damage to Bowyer, Hamlin, and Earnhardt at the beginning. I was hoping that Keselowski or Ragan or Allmendinger or someone could make the pursuit of the last Chase spot interesting, but Hamlin's and Earnhardt's teams did such an amazing job repairing shredded race cars that it wouldn't have ended up mattering what any of those guys did.

The "WTF?" moments of the race go to Ambrose and Johnson. I like Marcos, but that was such a stupid attempt at a three-wide pass even with the desperation factor. And although I agree with Johnson that Kurt has mostly been the one unfairly making contact with him rather than vice versa, that takeout move was uncalled for.

At this point, I think I'd rank the likelihood of the different Chase drivers winning the championship as:

1. Johnson
2. Edwards
3. Kyle Busch
4. Gordon
5. Harvick
6. Keselowski
7. Kenseth
8. Kurt Busch
9. Hamlin
10. Newman
11. Stewart
12. Earnhardt

There's surely a lot of room to disagree with this ranking. In particular, I have no idea how to arrange the top three, or where to put Brad. But I'm pretty comfortable with the rest.

Oh, and one other thing I wanted to point out: as much intrigue as the wild-card system added, the exact same drivers would have made the Chase if the system had been the same as last year, simply taking the top twelve. Keselowski and Hamlin ended up eleventh and twelfth, even before the points were reset.

Had to go out so missed the last 200 laps, was Vickers allowed back out at all? Sounds like it was a good finish. :)

Good point, I think it doesn't add much...but I don't think much needs to be added.

Have at it boys!

You must have not watched NASCAR for a while because I can name far more incidents not including Vickers where the same thing happened (Like the Nationwide race with Harvick for example).

Well guys, the plan is happening just as I thought it would:

Jayski
Dillon will use the #3 in Nationwide Series in 2012: The return of Nationwide Series teams to Richard Childress Racing also signifies the return of the venerable #3 Chevy to competition full time in 2012. The merger between Kevin Harvick Inc. and RCR will enable KHI's existing teams, the #2 car with Elliott Sadler and the #33 with a cast of current Sprint Car drivers, to compete in the NNS along with Childress' grandson Austin Dillon. Dillon, 21, drives the #3 Silverado in the Camping World Truck Series. Dillon competed in four Nationwide non-companion events for KHI this season. Dillon's brother Ty will take over the driving duties in the #3 truck next season.(Fox Sports), Austin Dillon is scheduled to make his Sprint Cup debut in the #98 Chevy at Kansas in October

Just as I suspected, Richard Childress has established a step ladder for his Grand kids. Of course this now leaves just one question: Who's replacing Ty in the 41 for ARCA?

Also according to Speed, Johnny Benson will be returning to the Truck Series with his own team. Great to hear and I really hope there might a small chance that Hornaday will be part of it.

Limited coverage mate and the times the races are on here makes it hard to watch 'em all. We got the Nationwide series on our "sports" channel (Free to air television) but we don't get those races any more. Just the sprint cup. :)

Love Johnny Benson. Was my favorite Truck Series driver, hope he makes it back. 👍

My dad finally recieved tickets for Joliet. 👍

We are only in row 10, wish we were up higher but they should still be good seats.

Who do you think will win the chase this year? I will say this, it could be anyone, but I think Jimmie's streak is ending this year.

I also think someone else will win I think Gordon will a great shot at it Kyle busch would be my second choice if he can have some luck and good engines

I agree with Jeff and Kyle, but I hope it isn't Kyle. Anyone but him. I'm a Dodge Guy so you can guess who I hope wins.

Who I hope will win: Gordon, Keselowski or Harvick.

Who I think will win: Johnson, Edwards or Kyle Busch.

Aww... you all went on without me? Well, let me just do this... Chase time! Here's the contenders (wins in parentheses). Correct/Fix me if I miss anything:

01 - Kevin Harvick (4)
01 - Kyle Busch (4)
03 - Jeff Gordon (3)
04 - Matt Kenseth (2)
05 - Carl Edwards (1)
06 - Kurt Busch (1)
07 - Ryan Newman (1)
08 - Jimmie Johnson (1)
09 - Brad Keselowski (3)
10 - Denny Hamlin (1)
11 - Dale Earnhardt Jr.
12 - Tony Stewart

And then, here are all the venues:
• 9/18 - Chicagoland
• 9/25 - Loudon
• 10/2 - Dover
• 10/9 - Kansas
• 10/15 - Charlotte
• 10/23 - Talladega
• 10/30 - Martinsville
• 11/6 - Texas
• 11/13 - Phoenix
• 11/20 - Homestead

Tell it, GTP...
• Who do you want to see win the championship?
• Who WILL win the championship?
• Who is/are your dark horse(s) to win?

I think if Jeff Gordon can remain consistent and cash in a few more victories, he'll get his fifth Cup championship. He's the guy I want to see win the 2011 title. Something tells me that Jimmie Johnson may not have that fire to just really emerge in a money situation like the Chase. While I'm a fan of the #48, I don't think he'll get the title this season. The one name that concerns me in the Chase field is Kyle Busch. As much as he's able to win races, I think at some point, he's going to have to win a championship to assure his racing talent. A championship in Cup can do just that. You can't just dominate in Trucks and Nationwide and do not very much in Cup. If he wants to establish himself proper, win in Cup, Rowdy. Finally, I have Brad Keselowski as my dark horse to win the title. Something tells me he could be a star in this year's Chase unless Denny Hamlin has something to say about it.

Best of luck to all 12 contenders. Battle hard to win the Chase. Bring on Chicagoland!

I would really like to see either Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, or Kevin Harvick become Cup champion this year. Jimmie Johnson will win the championship barring catastrophic failure which of course is highly unlikely..... :grumpy: My dark horse candidates are Matt Kenseth and Brad Keselowski.
