Absolutely no idea what the ball boy thought he was doing, waltzes up to the ball slow as you like, no push from Hazard and falls on top of the ball, and then gives a performance worthy of an oscar when very little contact was made :lol: If you watch the replay closely Hazard hardly touches with the kid all the way through, but the intent was there I guess.

But Eden hazard kicked a ball boy, and people think a red card was harsh? He's lucky he wasn't arrested there on the spot and I hope they press for assault charges.

He would have been penalised for not releasing. Needed more support from his flankers.

I would expect a pretty substantial ban, even if the ballboy was being a prat and not wanting to give the ball back.

Of course he was milking it, but it still doesn't excuse Hazard's reaction. Time would've been added on at the end anyway.
 
Hazard should definitely get a longer than 3 match ban for that. Kicking a kid? Lost all respect for him right there.


However, I do think the ball boy should be banned from ball-boying (?) in further games. I get what he's trying to do, but it's not his job to waste time for this team (quite the contrary).

Hazard news made the bottom line of ESPN in America, which is surprising because its normally only Barcelona, Madrid and EPL scores.
 
Have to give props to Swansea. They are having a stellar season, and it is continuing. Going to be a really interesting final I think.

Just watched a YouTube video of what Hazard did. I think a definite straight red card was needed. Although, I will say this. The kid should be banned. And Hazard should get a 2-3 match ban, just for thinking of doing that. No intention to hurt the kid at all. Nothing malicious at all. In fact, barely even touched him I thought.

From what I was reading on twitter. People were making it sound like he straight drop kicked the kid or was going for a American Football 50 yard Field Goal lol.
 
That's what I was gleaning as well. It didn't even look like it hurt. I get the actual action is out of line, but I was not expecting what I saw :lol:.

He tried to dislodge the ball from underneath the boy. The boy held the side of his ribs, but Hazard would have to be a bit off target for him to hit the side of his ribs while basically scooping his foot underneath the boy to get the ball. If Hazard hit the boy at all, it was completely accidental. That's how I see it. The boy is apparently the son of a member of the Swansea board, as well. I don't think he deserves anything more than a 2 match ban for his actions. What's more upsetting is how so many journalists are covering this story, and shining a bad light on Hazard, as if he maliciously attacked the boy.

The more I watch the replay. The more I think the ball boy is a wanker. He was really bad at faking a dive, faking being hurt, and wasting time.

Surely Swansea City will get some sort of slight fine for the boy trying to stall the game. It's quite clear. He "falls" and then makes no effort to try and get back up or anything for a good 5-8 seconds. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

If you lay on the ball and stop play then you get a good kicking from everyone else. I learnt that in primary school.

I must say, I have to agree... obviously he's spent too long watching professional footballers...

... that said, Hazard clearly did make contact (his shin hits the guy in the ribs), and it was not really 'accidental' as such.

Right so he was time-wasting, and it looks like all the other ballboys last night were told to do the same (although Laudrup says different) but i think a lot of teams have done it in the past and theres no excuse for kicking a 17-year-old lad in the ribs! he and Chelsea are lucky that the Police have not followed it up!

I'm sure that that child has signed some sort of waver saying that they are not allowed to have the police do any sort of action if something like this were to happen. I don't think you could really get anywhere with the police on this sort of matter anyway. It's not like it was a life risking incident.

I don't think he actually hit the kid when he was kicking. It was when he was stepping over the kid after retrieving the ball, his right boot appears to clip the area that the kid was holding afterwards "in pain."

The players/staff/fans etc. have no say in the matter if the police decide to get involved - if someone is assaulted at a football match, the police can get involved if there is enough evidence. In this case, no further action is to be taken, but police involvement is always a possibility, albeit usually a remote one.

True. Although, the police would have to be pretty unintelligent to think that that was in any way, shape, or form, assault lol.
 
Why kick him in the ribs? The ballboy has a face you would never tire of kicking...
 
So anyway!, i want to talk about the match (yes there was a match taking place!)

I was a bit surprised with Chelsea, they didnt really do much last night and i was expecting more fight from them, espicially in the first twenty minutes or so..but it never really happened...

Yeah, I expected Chelsea to score an early goal but it never really happened. Swansea also had some really good chances where I would have expected them to score.

But Swansea vs Bradford in the final is amazing.

I think it's the first time ever that Swansea have been in a major final and the first time in 102? years that Bradford have been in a major final. Might need clarifying that.
 
I think Bradford-Swansea is great for the competition as other so called smaller teams will think they have a great chance next year and in the Fa Cup this year..

...It looks like i will be going to Wembley as well!, my dad is a season ticket holder and he'll get me and my sister tickets when they go on sale wednesday!:)👍
 
Thinking it may be worth a tenner on Bradford. Doubt they're gonna win but anything can happen. Magic of a cup final.
 
On these kind of competitions, and asuming a team I support doesn't play the final, I always cheer for the lowest league team. When you see them win, you can see it in their faces that it means a lot for them.
