Well that's a tad unfair on Kamui. I'll be watching Pastor with great interest at the start, but I'm hoping for Kamui to be on the podium at the very least.
 
I'm hoping for a Sauber win tomorow. It won't happen but it would be nice to see.

If I were on pole and I had those two behind me, I'd be looking for a way to let them past... :lol:

Button is in a great position. Perfect set-up, perfect starting position, perfect arrangement of rivals (all too far back to do anything).


This means, of course, that it's going to rain right after the formation lap...

I hope so for Hamilton but it would be a shame if Button fell back after doing so well in qualifying.

Hamilton should get a better launch off the line than the others because he's running more downforce, I think.
EDIT: This GP2 race is falling apart! :lol:

Not to say Kobayashi is reckless, but he is one of the most aggressive overtakers in the field. Having an opportunistic Koba up one side and a... Maldonado... barreling down the other would not be nice.

When Glock first signed for the team, he specifically said that the ability to lead the team up the grid was one of the major reasons why he joined them in the first place. And yet somehow, the team hasn't gotten anywhere near the front. To suggest that Glock, in his own way, is not responsible for their lack of progress suggests that the car was so poor that it could not be developed at all.

So you think that because Glock felt he could help, that not getting results is all down to him?

Of course "the car" (more than one car involved here...but anyway) could be developed - the team quite clearly have made progress since their debut because they have managed to keep the gap to front about the same. That in itself requires progress because if they had stood still they probably wouldn't be hitting 107%. But to make more progress requires more money and stability in how the team runs.

In the past 3 years this team has gone from a CFD-only approach to a windtunnel approach, moved their base, changed owners, changed various management and gone through 3 different 2nd drivers. Its hardly the recipe for success and I don't see how you trivialise the situation down to "Glock didn't help".

I'm sorry but I don't understand your logic at all. You still haven't explained how you have to come to these conclusions, so far you've given me "Kovalainen and Caterham are doing well" and "Glock said he thinks he can do well back in 2010".

By the way, to the guy who was complaining about top speeds earlier, Button registered at 322kph at the end of the Kemmel Straight. That's 200mph and some change.

Just got back home, pretty surprising qualifying results. Nice to see Button back on form. But I'm hoping for a Hamilton win tomorrow.

Surprising that this is Jenson's first pole for McLaren, although it's easy to forget that he's only been driving for them for 2 full seasons

I'd love to see Kobayashi win

I can breathe a little easier about Kobayashi and Button at the start then. Bit of fireworks with Hamilton and Maldonado next to each other though..

How utterly surprising. :dopey:

My prediction for the race is that Button will take the start and pull out a ten second lead from Perez and Kimi. In the second half Räikkönen will pick up the speed and pass Sergio and with five laps remaining reach Jenson but will be unable to pass. Alonso will drive an extremely uneventful race and finish in fourth which, in the end, means that he extends his lead in the championship.

Well it's moot now that Maldonado has been taken out of the equation, but while Kobayashi can be pretty aggressive, he doesn't cause many accidents. If it comes down to Jenson V Kamui into the first corner, I'd bet both will come through La Source intact.

Intentional. Perez will pull off a blinder of a start, passing both Kimi and Kobayashi. The latter will in fact take off in a manner resembling Webber a la 2011 and will pass the line after the first lap in eighth which will also be his finishing position.

Why is that surprising? He does start 4th. If the cards fall right, Sauber could well be onto their first ever 1-2 (other than with BMW).

Personally I'm going to be happy if either Sauber takes the win. If not them, Button or Raikkonen would be a good win.
Kobayashi winning is the dream.

Well Kobayashi and Raikkonen start 2nd and 3rd respectively. I thought he had mixed up the Saubers.

As for my prediction, Button will get a slow start and Kobayashi will rocket away. Bruno Senna will pull off an absolutely heroic start up to second and will hold everyone up. :sly:
 
Raikkonen is in a great position for the win. Key to the race will be dispatching Kobayashi early. I expect Jenson to have to put for tires before the Sauber and the Lotus

Where did you get this rubbish from? Not wanting to sound disrespectful, but that post really made no sense.

It does not matter how good a driver is in your car, every single driver is bound to be limited by the resources that are being put into a project by a team. Glock is exactly the kind of driver Marussia need, he has pace and experience. Resources is the only thing Marussia need.
