Awesome qualifying, I wasn't expecting Rosberg on pole! Anybody suffer the BBC's "Technical Problems"?
Absolutely loved the timing. They are showing Mercedes celebrating, and then: "This is Mercedes's first poll position since... *BEEP* BBC Apologies - a normal service will resume as soon as possible".

Vettel was running another lap when the flag fell. They weren't resting him/car/tyres on the assumption they'd made it through. He had chance to improve his time to get into Q3 - and failed.

Team got cocky. Thought they were safe, realized they weren't, sent him out for a very late second lap. If he'd had more time, maybe he would've been less pressured... Or had enough in it for a second go...

Or maybe the pace really isn't in the car... Whatever... Great qualy session, either way.

Be thankful it didnt happen a couple of minutes before, we would have missed the end of Q3 then :scared:

Oh and it was mercedes' first pole since 1955 ;) I thoroughly hope Rosberg goes on to win tomorrow, its always nice when someone gets their first win 👍

His first flying lap in Q2 was 1'36.047, (he then asked Rocky via team radio if that was enough and was told he would have to go again) he then "improved" to a 1'36.034 on the same run. His 2nd run, which ended when the flag came out, yielded a 1'36.031. The consistency of those times indicate he was going as fast as he could.

Wow, I've just seen that lap by Rosberg and it just reminds me of what Ayrton Senna used to do!

Yeah I also did, we were treated to a colour bar screen followed by some random shot of the Final Score studio with no one in it

Couldn't have bee a worse time to cut out because we didn't get to see much of qualifyings aftermath.

Well, it's always great to watch Schumacher when he is in the front pack, specially when there is Kobayashi and Rosberg to fight him and Kimi is always a candidate winner.

Really looking forward to this race, will definetely stay awake for this one.

I'm going to put 27 pence on the two Mercs making contact into turn 1 :scared:

Lets hope not but there is a high probability.
And I was watching the qualy, listening to Shumacher radio and it went something like this.

Shu - what was Rosbergs lap time
Eng - 1:35:121
Shu - Not bad

But it the press conference he said «that was a phenomenal lap time»

Who else thinks he is going to have more bad luck after three consecutive good starts?

Yep, I noticed that too... His attempts at playing it cool always end in him looking arrogant. Poor sod!

If you lose who do you send the money to?

haha I'm sure Bernie wouldn't complain!

I think it's gonna be a very interesting race, Raikkonen and Kobayashi have something to do I think, I still dont really believe Mercedes will be good in race. First they have that tyres problem and secondary if they got the pole it's only because there's no DRS limit during Qualification so yeah, we'll see but I think it's gonna be interesting. Button might have a good chance too. And it might rain also, if you combine all that, we should have an awesome race tomorrow.

Strange. I multi-replay that specific part and my head can interprete what he said as both 'OK' and 'not bad' which made it even harder to choose... What's a cross between OK and not bad?

 I think I remember hearing him just say "OK" but it definitely had a 'not bad' tone to it :sly:
"Hmm okay"
that's what i heard too.

Pretty pretty sure it was "not bad".

Not so sure anymore.

I've watched the russian broadcast and this radio transmission was much more clear. I was 100% sure it was "Umm okay"(but how sure can you really be at 3am?:D) but the Russian commentator translated it as "Not bad" as well. I disregarded it then because, well, he is Russian, but after seeing the thread, can't be simply a coincidence?

Seems like the audio issue is on the recording side.

Never watched F1 in Russian, must be pretty cool/funny. (Speak Russian too)
So 3am eh? I suppose live, does that mean F1 is rather big in Russia?
