On the James Allen website, he said it will go down as a Webber pole, as that will be the list submitted by the FIA at 1pm tomorrow.
CenturaIt will go down as pole because grid penalty is applied after qualifying.
What rumours? The ones you just started?
Go Fatjohn.
Maldonado really deserved the penalty. That was extremely stupid by him and yeah, I really thought the 'immature' Maldonado has gone but seems like it just came back. I'm disappointed with that, personally.
EDIT: Also, Maldonado has just changed his gearbox so that means.. He will start last?

This is different from Hamilton's incident in Barcelona. He was disqualified from qualifying.
So... Does this mean Maldonado will start 24th (last) or penultimate ahead of Perez which actually didn't log a time?
Anyway, I now know 2 drivers that will go for a 1 stop, surelly.
Doesn't matter if everybody behind him didn't set a lap time, he will start last now.
Now I'm thinking, will Sauber and Perez start from the pit to avoid any possible first corner shenanigan? I think that will be a smart move tomorrow if they decided to.
I think Kovalainen was one of them as I remember reading that earlier this week. Did you list out Perez? He's also could be the one for the 1 stopper.
hornet_burnoutWait... Just realized, wasn't Perez the driver hit by Maldonado on FP3? Is that what caused his wheel malfunction and the crash?
Is anyone else having problems with the official F1 site?
Maybe. No one can say for sure. Surprised at the reaction towards Maldonado. 100% his fault but a few people are completely discounting the fact that it was most definitely an accident. Guess he's just a popular guy to hate. This is racing. Accidents happen all the time. Let's not go on a witch hunt.
Surely, all grid penalties are applied after qualifying?
It would be the same as any infringement that occurred in qualifying, for example cutting a chicane, thus gaining time and getting pole. A penalty would be applied and pole denied. Whether the penalty is hanging over from a previous race or given at that event.

hornet_burnoutAgreed... Maybe because he hasn't earned it yet. One race sure isn't enough for me.
I thought it was the other Sauber, Kobayashi. Or maybe they both went there?
Anyway, no penalty IMO since there was no intention.
There should be some form of consistency at the very least.
Yes. No penalties for unintentional contacts. I'm no Schumacher fan, but the penalty he got was ridiculous...
Just watched a replay, and what a lap by Schumacher! Shame about the penalty, but good to see that it will go down as a pole position, despite having to start 6th.
