Who the hell thought it was a good idea to hold the British Grand Prix in the middle of July? Idiots.

Of course the interesting thing at this point is that if they can't continue, ala what could have been at Brazil 09, I guess Perez gets the pole and Vergne is 4th with Vettel 10th.

Don't know about sun bathing but it's definitely shorts and t-shirt weather to be sure

Any warmer and the government will put on a heat wave warning.

Hard for Button. Previous tyres were bad, he told team after finishing how incredible it was, the difference in grip. Had he changed 2m sooner he'd have had at least another lap before that.

Had to go out, so not gonna be able to watch the rest, even with the red flag. Can't wait to see who gets the pole. Cracking stuff :D

Looks like Hamilton might be starting 14th because that was his position in the last complete session, typical of the stewards.

Does either vettel or Alonso start first via that method? :banghead:

Charlie Whiting said that if the weather reports are accurate, then qualifying should get underway at 15:00pm.
I bet the BBC producers are sweating, they've got to find something to broadcast for another 40 minutes

Don't know if anyone else can hear it, but the safety car is getting a hell of an ovation out there.

I'm watching the world feed sans commentary. It's great for hearing those conversations in the garage that the commentators usually talk over.

On the f1 timing app they said that in Suzuka in 2010 qualification was on sunday morning. Looks like stewart are trying to clear the rain on the track tho.

Alonso is in! :D

We'll need to see about that. If he didn't slow in the final sector (which was under yellows) he could be penalized.

Edit:

From Autosport live timing.

14:16 Alonso did go slower than his previous best past the yellow flags, so may escape problems with the stewards for that.

Although Di Resta is unhappy about it.
