Great job of damage control by Alonso.

Hamilton didn't make as good a go of it as he should have. Too bad. At least next year he gets a chance at fighting for a top ten spot with Nico, instead.

Even with the blown diffusers being outlawed this season Red Bull look well on course to take the constructors championship again, it's a bit of a shame really. You could throw any F1 driver into that car and they would be pretty much guaranteed at least one win in a season.

Maybe next race we can see Vettel coast to a win with an empty tank and a blown rear. That one just wasn't dramatic enough.

Just flawless....

Singapore was a bit lucky, lets be honest. He did blow his Q3 lap and was gifted victory when Hamilton's gearbox failed. In the other races he definitely had the fastest car but the car came home in first each time which is never easy.

With any luck, the stewards will disqualify Vettel for a worn front skid board.

Knew this would come up. If it is a result of damage the car sustained during the race, there will be no penalty. Hamilton's car spent the last 10 or 15 laps of the 2011 Australian Grand Prix with the plank dragging along the ground far more severely and there was no penalty.

I don't know about the real rule but finger cross. It's F1, anything can happen.

I won't be crossing anything. It's no secret that I'm a Vettel fan, but I never wish misfortune on any driver. Even the ones I don't like.

This, I'd prefer the championship to be decided by actual racing rather than penalties.

Came here to say I'm happy that Vettel won. It HAS to be his championship. Come on, ring ding ding ding ding! LMAO

Alonso can do no more. Red Bull is just too strong. Looks like it's Vettel's championship to lose. But let's see what happens at Abu Dhabi.

If Alonso wins a race and Vettel DNFs one, which could have easily happened today then it's Fernando who is in the strong position. I'd love to see how the other top drivers would perform in a Red Bull, it would be disappointing if Vettel keeps dominating for the next few years. It seems like nothing can stop Red Bull from coming out on top at the end of the season.

Any day that Vettel wins and Karthikeyan finishes is a good day for me. :D

First race in years that I didn't even bother watching. No great loss.

I'm hoping he doesn't add Abu Dhabi to that list next Sunday...

Still what I took out of this race was not the dominance of Red Bull (again), but the recent form of Sergio Perez. Or should I say the lack of? I like Sergio but ever since he signed for McLaren he's been driving as if he expects everyone else to jump out of his way all of a sudden. Or at least that's how I see it. However if I am correct then I think someone needs to sit him down and point out that signing a contract for McLaren doesn't automatically make him gods gift to the race track.

I've noticed that, he keeps making mistakes and is driving much more aggressively than usual. He tried to overtake the Toro Rosso around the outside of turn 1 and in Suzuka he even scared Hamilton to the edge of the track.

Young guy trying to prove something, is my guess. He's one of my favorite drivers, so I hope somebody will give him a talking to. Hope he does well at McLaren.

You gotta admit, Alonso is pretty stunning in every race he gets to finish. In a way, I feel he deserves this title more than Vettel.

Regardless, well done to him.

Still only 13 points between Alonso and Vettel, I see Vettel slipping up at some stage, either him or his car, still life in this season yet.

Alonso not far off in the end. Hopefully for the championship sake Ferrari can out qualify the McLarens next race as they lost some time behind them early on.

Alonso had a new floor and Massa didn't. I'm pretty optimistic Ferrari can push Red Bull to the wire.
