Well I like getting up to watch the races so im looking forward to it..

Boring quali but im still getting up at 5.30 to watch the race....

5:30? Race isn't till 7. The anticipation of a Korean "Grand Prix" would send me to sleep again if I had to wait 90 minutes for it!

To be fair as an insomniac I won't be going to sleep until 4-5, no way I could stay up until 8:30+ though. I remember trying to do that for the 2010 race, missing the start and woke up during the SC laps.

Considering this to be one of the few races I'm not up at 4-6 in the morning to watch I can't complain, even if a certain driver runs away with it.

NBC kinda screwed us over. I pretty much either have to stay awake until the live airing ends at five in the morning, or wait until five in the evening, avoiding as much sports related things as possible for an entire day. I'll spoil qualifying results, but not the race. Kinda scared about how the race will end, given it's history, but hopefully, it'll change this year.

Do you suggest that they have an earlier re-air of the race? I don't have NBCsports still and rely on sky-sports streaming

Yeah, or at least move it to a different NBC channel. I remember back during the Tour de France, they aired races on MSNBC, and for Malaysia, they re-aired it around noon.

I can't say I am looking forward to this race, but I will probably watch it anyway. If Vettel gets free after the straight, that follows the first corner he should win comfortably.

They always do this, it's infuriating. I just wish they would stick with one car throughout a whole lap, even if they switch away from the on-board cameras. But as it stands they switch between different cars, and usually only show cars coming out of the last corner on hotlaps. It makes it kind of pointless watching the cars go around, you may aswell just watch the timing screen because thats all you get from the TV feed anyway.

Also, the track map only showed Mercedes and Red Bull IIRC. I was wondering why Vettel left such a big gap to Hamilton at the end of Q3, as he was cutting it fine to get back around to the start/finish line in time. But it turns out there was Raikkonen and possibly Hulkenberg inbetween them too.

Yeah, it's horrible. I feel like I can only make sense of the timings half the time. They too often do a bad job of visually keeping things organized.

But for this quali not even the live timing helped. Again, the bottom five drivers of Q3, which was explained to me they only went for one run, did not even show up on the timing basically until the last 20s or so.

Is he calling RBR reptilians, cause if so we should all hand over the tinfoil to Brundle.

You've misread what Clarkson said. He said Reptonians - the link as Brundle spotted - Clarkson & Newey went to the same school (Repton School), probably the same year band as well.

Brundle/Clarkson/Newey are all about the same age as well, but Brundle lived in West Norfolk.

It just makes Clarkson's comments funnier, he's never, never this politically correct or sly usually...but he executed it perfectly! I'd expect a Fry nod of QI appreciation for that any other day!

I saw Reptonians I didn't misread I just have never heard of Repton School cause as you can see from my nation's flag...

Hoping Lewis can get a good start. He seemed pretty positive on the BBC interview.

I must say these highlights are frustrating to watch sometimes, the Singapore race was quite bad to follow. More so with the no refueling and teams opting for long runs that play out near the end. the editing loses any build up.

Looking forward to seeing Suzuka live next week.

I've also made the effort to get up early. Hopefully it will be a decent race. I'm keeping my expectations low.

Ted: "Just a quick word Seb, how was the lap to the grid?"
Vettel: "Good." *Vettel walks off*

I really want to see how Webber and Raikkonen do at the start of the race

Not the same without a Martin Brundle grid walk 👎

If we ignore Vettel, that was actually really exciting. They should do 4 abreast more often.

I think we have had all the excitement already, this could well be the most boring race for years.

*tempts fate*
