Sutil has crashed into Webber, and Webber's car is on fire! Again!

Did Sutil just forget how to drive?

Also, does Korea not own any fire extinguishers?

Webbers on fire!

Edit: also, diResta can say goodbye to his F1 career, 2 straight unforced crashes.

That was a great use of an IR camera.

Oh boy, they sent out the wrong car. That's not going to be a good thing for Korea.

Someone's being fired tonight for sending that car out onto the track.

You mean the Jeep Grand Cherokee isn't the safety car?. This is hilarious. The broadcasters have no idea what to make of it.

They didn't. That was the fire response car.

That was my point.

Fair enough. At least he didn't take anyone else out though. What is it with Sutil and Asia? First the Chinese nightclub incident, now arson in Korea.

That was a brilliant move by Raikkonen, at least there's someone trying to make this an interesting race.

Imagine the look on the Jeep driver when he saw the drivers behind

Track marshals sent out the car WITHOUT permission from the FIA. That's what I meant.

It's an emergency response unit. Sure, the timing was horrible, but it's best not to wait in the event of an emergency.

I'm not sure there was an emergency at that point. Webber wasn't trapped in the car, and the ERU should not have been sent out in front of the field if the Safety Car was NOT sent out behind it/before it.

Fire is hot. Who knew that...

They didn't. That was the fire response car.
But it shouldn't have been sent out first, on it's own. Scramble the fire response car along with the safety car. Safety car lets the fire car go and then holds the field up. Simples. Don't just let the fire response car amble down the middle of a live race track.

Looking away from the Jeep coming on track, it took them far too long to get the fire out. 👎

Maybe because it took sometime for Webber to come out? It was already a fireball even before Webber came out.

Great fighting between Lewis and 'Nando.

Webber was out of the car before we saw the ERU vehicle on the track. Also, the ERU should NOT have been right in front of a live field, which was immensely dangerous.

I'm in two minds about this. I agree that it shouldn't have been sent down a live track, however, for all we know, it could have been the decision of a professional fire fighter to attend the fire without waiting for authorization. Either way, someone messed up.

The way I see it is the driver was clearly fine, and fire marshalls at the scene should have been able to deal with it. It wasn't exactly a Berger at Tamburello fire incident.
