That's not really fair. They didn't show it in the video, but Ambrose got completely sideways under Danica and slid up into her. When he moved up in front of her on corner exit, that's just how he races against everybody, and in any event it really isn't dirty racing. Gilliland's maneuver was a little more ambiguous, but to me it looked like he simply pushed up the hill. I really don't think anyone would have batted an eyelid if he had done the same to, say, Casey Mears.

It's just because Danica will whine about someone racing her hard or possibly rub her a little. She just needs to stop complaining and racer harder!

She better consider motherhood, her prime birthing years are passing her by. Tick tok tick tok. I'm sure her hubby would like to spawn future phenom racers until they get to the big leagues.

IN OTHER NEWS....Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. becomes part of the Nationwide Insurance family. Nationwide will be a primary sponsor for 3 races in 2013 and for 4 races in 2014 as well as serve as an associate sponsor for all other No. 17 NASCAR Sprint Cup races.

Um you do know she is getting a divorce and dates Ricky Stenhouse Jr now?

According to this article, the team got hit a lot harder than that:

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ap-sources-kenseths-engine-fails-141450605--nascar.html

In addition to the 50 points, his 3 bonus points were taken away and his pole award.

Gibbs was docked 50 car owner's points and had his owner's license suspended for the next 6 races. He cannot earn any car owner points for 6 races.

Toyota also lost 5 points in the manufacturer's championship.

Actually, no... if you take Toyota's word for it, the difference was minuscule.

I have a hard time comprehending how a single connecting rod that's 0.6% underweight could possibly merit a penalty of this magnitude. Clearly, they're clearly trying to send teams a message. I know NASCAR is trying to take a hard line on cheating this year, but this doesn't look like it was intentional, and certainly wasn't particularly consequential. I suspect it has a pretty good chance of being largely overturned on appeal.

My opinion is that the fans are strongly against Toyota even being in NASACAR at all, and the draconian penalties imposed over almost nothing is meant to cheer up the Chevrolet, etc. crowd. Next, look for Kyle Busch to be put plumb out of contention.

Nope has nothing to do with that. You don't mess with engines, fuel or tires period and they aren't Hendricks either. They seem to have time to allow issues to be settled while others like Penske, JGR get hit right away.

Carl Long is another reason why fines are so big too.

Do I agree with penalty, not really as it's not like it was huge deal. Hell they got hit less on those fancy oil pans but a bolt because this big of a fine, give me a break. MWR messed with fuel during early days of their Toyota deal and nothing like this either.

Mark Martin fastest in first practice session.

EDIT: Gordon fastest in final practice. :D

Just saw Brad's car for the Cup race, kind of an appropriate sponsor considering the stuff he's been spounting.

And wow, Montoya in a Depends car. How many jokes have already been made out of this?

Anybody find the irony of Piquet saying he won't take Scott's "s***" considering he once intentionally wrecked so that his teammate would win?
Also, you could only make fun of a Depends car if Mark was driving it.

Sorry for the double post but this is breaking news from Twitter:

Those three previous tweets concerning an alleged assault by RCR crewmen on Nelson Piquet Jr. in the motorhome lot after tonight's race.

Policeman told me one person injured in altercation was in a sling & that two others were "taken away." Happened outside tunnel.

RCR spokesman confirms team members were involved in altercation. Cooperating with local authorities.

He was basically told "wreck or you're fired," then they fired him anyway.

RCR is one of few teams who doesn't have issues handling business.

What the back story on Piquet wrecking deal? I haven't followed that drama but I do like him.

2008 Singapore GP, he was told by then-team principal Flavio Briatore that he had to crash at a certain time to bring out a safety car, thus making teammate Fernando Alonso's pit strategy work. It did: Alonso started quite a ways back (I forget where exactly) and went on to win the race. Piquet was later fired from Renault, and he then told the FIA what had happened. Long story short, a massive storm of fecal matter erupted.

The kick reminds me of 82' German Grand Prix, when Piquet did the same against Eliseo Salazar.

And here is Piquet Jr's kick.....Any similarities?

Looks to me like Brian Scott started the slamming with an outside tank-slapper and so Piquet finished him off with a PIT maneuver.

The fight looks just like Hockenheim, 1982...but with more groin shots.

Hard to believe, but it's already been 10 years since Jerry Nadeau's crash(technically Thursday will be the anniversary).

Ten years since Nadeau's injury: NASCAR's annual spring visit to Richmond International Raceway marks the 10-year anniversary of Jerry Nadeau's near fatal accident at the track. Nadeau crashed driver's-side first into the outside wall between Turns 1 and 2 during a May 2, 2003, practice at Richmond. He was airlifted to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in critical condition with a moderate to severe head injury, partially collapsed left lung, fractured shoulder blade and left-side rib-cage injuries. It took 20 days for Nadeau to regain full consciousness and begin to speak again, and four more before he was transferred to Charlotte Institute of Rehabilitation to begin physical, occupational and speech therapy. Nadeau was in inpatient care until June 6, and in therapy until July 25. When NASCAR returned to Richmond in September that year, Nadeau made an emotional visit to VCU Medical Center to thank the medical staff. He went on to form World Karting Endurance at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and has done some driver coaching, but never raced again in NASCAR.(Associated Press)(4-27-2013)

Wow, I'd forgotten all about Nadeau, showed promise in open-wheeled racing, was set for an F3000 seat around 1995-96, but turned to Winston Cup, instead. Didn't remember/recall his horrible injuries, though.

Would just like to brag abit: For the first time, I'm watching the race live from mah Smartphone :D

Actually I'm at the hospital with my son for a few days and need to war h online. My Sling adapter won't connect to my Hopper!!!

What site streams audio and video?

Otherwise, Tune In Radio has MRN with live radio coverage.

The Dish sling app (Thank Mah dad for that :D). Can watch all the channels and races. Granted it still has the jumping and glitching every once in a while, but still works well enough.

No freaking way, I'm in the hospital with my dad right now.

As for the sling, did you login on the hospital's network? It won't work if you don't.
