And here is the "Defense": Dale Jr. disagrees with Kyle Petty on Danica, saying that “She’s a tough competitor,” and “She works really hard at what she does.”

Of course he would defend a Hendrick-supported driver. There is no "Work" going on nor was there any for her getting to cup, she bought it all.

RACECAR
Technically, isn't he just repeating what we honestly already knew since Indycar? Guess its far since it still isn't said enough.

On the other hand though, I have to argue against the "because she's a girl" complaint because just based off that alone, why the hell does no one say anything about Johanna Long, Makena Bell or Casey Rustek?

And yeah, it doesn't take some HoF "credentials" to know the difference between a Race Car driver and someone that just drives fast cars.
She wasn't terrible with Indy cars, but not good enough to be a serious championship contender. The problem, as shown by Hornish and JPM, is the transition to a stock car is not easy. Why did she make the jump in the first place rather than hone her skills even further? Further, why jump to Cup so quickly? I suppose sponsors have their part in that but she could've refused and work on her race craft. Instead, she basically has the red carpet rolled out for her while better drivers could only dream they could get a Cup Ride with a start and park operation. Danica is the prime example of what I detest about motorsports. It's more about marketability than talent.

As for other female drivers, they don't get the same exposure and justly so. They don't seem to mind. I do give them due when they achieve a solid result, as does the broadcast crew. In other words, same treatment as any other driver.

Before reading the article I was ready to defend Danica as a racecar driver who is simply way out of her league in Sprint Cup.

After reading it I agree with Kyle Petty. Shes not a racecar driver. Look how often she crashes. Thats been a consistent theme with her even during the Indycar days.

Personally, I'd love it if Danica was a front runner and at least had a shot at getting into The Chase. It would be even more inspirational for girls to get into racing. I could then simply dislike her because of typical rivalry reasons. Instead I dislike her because of all of the unwarranted attention on her. She should have the same amount of attention as the rest of the back markers/field fillers. The fact she is getting MORE attention is sexist. I honestly hope she hasn't been wrecked because drivers don't like a woman being in racing possibly being better than they are.

The thing I don't really like about her is that she didn't really work her way up into the ride she has now. She had sponsorship and that is really the only reason she is where she is. There is a lot of better drivers that could have used that ride and actually be a decent driver. But I agree with Kyle 100%

There are plenty of drivers capable of doing better than Danica.

Hell, there are race winners/champions that don't have full time rides.

I have to wonder how long GoDaddy will stick around if Danica keeps finishing in the 20's, especially with Hinch doing so well in IndyCar with their colors(they seem to be doing more ads with him as well).

Also, congrats to Ty for winning the truck race yesterday.👍

Here is the "Chapter 3 of the Danica Patrick/Kyle Petty feud"

Danica Patrick responds to Kyle Petty's criticism, saying that she "Doesn't care what critics like Petty think," and ending with a lightheartedly "Yeah, thanks Kyle, thanks for motivating me."

And congrats to Ty for his win last night 👍, although I would have liked to see Ryan Blaney on victory lane. He really had a fast truck.

Gloves are off. Would love to see if this escalates further.

Of course, knowing how the NASCAR world is centered around the lady in green, a bunch of people, including those who have never even tried driving a race car, will come in and bash Kyle, and demand TNT to fire him with immediate effect.

The sad part is that this back and forth will probably be the most exciting part of this entire race weekend.

That or if Kyle sarcastically says "That's incredible!" when Danica passes a car for 25th.

Oh, the brat fires back

Normally I don't do this, but I hope they just drop her and sponsor a driver who:

-Isn't a Diva
-Actually competes regularly
-Is far more likable

I believe that guy in Indycar fits all of those well 👍

I have to hand it to Crafton, He's doing pretty damn well for this to be his first nationwide race. He's racing like he's been doing this series for a while.

Always been a steady guy in the Trucks. Nice to see him finally have a crack at a stock car.

On a related note, typical Regan Smith fortune. Goes from leading by 50+ points to 2nd in the standings in two races.

Apparently he's been offered rides several times, but turned them down because he felt they were not ones he could win with.

What'a halfwit, I'd like to throat punch horse face.

Without seeing the majority of this race, but knowing how NASCAR does stuff, is say there is a 98% chance that this race would've finished under green if NASCAR didn't throw frivolous yellows and have useless parade laps under caution. NASCAR is not known for doing thing expeditiously, except for dishing out penalties.

Thanks for posting this Trooper!
