So now only Hall of Fame worthy talents should be allowed to critique other drivers? Really?

Now you're just misconstruing what I put down. My point is Kyle even makes note that he isn't that great of a racer. Basically it is on the lines of "it takes one to know one" or "Pot. Kettle. Black", I was just saying to you that let's not stretch out his stats as if he is some world class driver compared to those that were during his era. More so, Kyle is a flash in the pan like her. No reason for you to get worked up, what Kyle says is very true but people should bare in mind this is Kyle petty. I don't think they should put her on a higher standard than those around her when her results don't make her deserving of it. I get many of us here are tired of her using her gender as some merit to be int he premier of nascar. Don't confuse what I say as if I'm defending Patrick because I agree with Kyle Petty, I just think there are other drivers/commentators I would have rather heard this from (e.g. Rusty or Waltrip)

Because 99.7% of the press she gets is gushing with hype and isn't based anywhere in reality. I would rather hear the honest .3% (like what Petty said) 200 times before having to hear any of the rest of the 99.7% of her coverage once. It's very nauseating.

However, do you not see that such comments help her more? People are already on this PC bandwagon with her and thus she uses it, so Petty is helping her more than someone that gets happy due to a top 25 finish. I rather not hear any of it, because people will trump her up, like fans to some teen idol. Either way your perspective and mine is subjective so to each their own.

I don't think guys like Stenhouse should be in the same group as Danica. Stenhouse has proven what he can do in the Nationwide Series, winning two consecutive championships and multiple races. He's clearly a cut above as a driver. He's younger, faster, and has a way higher potential for future growth. He just doesn't have long hair and breasts, so he doesn't get picked to be in way too many commercials while benefiting from $20-25M per year in sponsorship from GoDaddy.

I would even put the upcoming stars like Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, and Jeb Burton ahead on youth and potential alone. In fact, I will bet right now that one of these three guys will win a Sprint Cup race before Danica does.

I get what you're saying and clearly I'm not the first guy to around these parts to lump him and other rookies with Danica. Just like JGR quickly bringing up Lagano I will give rookies time to show themselves but I feel the more quickly thrusted drivers though fast may end up never showing any great gains.

I'm still of the impression that the JGR-Logano situation was a forced circumstance. Had Stewart not decided to leave, Logano would've probably occupied a full time seat in Nationwide and would have much sooner lived up to his potential, which very likely was the plan. With that however, JGR was scrambling to find his replacement and it wasn't made it better by the pressure of a multi-time championship winning team. With Matt Kenseth this season in it, its far easier that its a champion driver AND a champion team so then its only a matter of making the chemistry work and this season, it has worked well.

The most rushed driver in NASCAR history was also the first. Kyle Petty's first race of any kind period was an ARCA race at Daytona in 1979, and within a year he was in a Cup car.

I'm not sure which new pre-race guy I hate worse, Matt Clark or this Chris Seville guy , they're both annoying

EDIT: Also, you guys will get a kick outta this

No wonder Brad Keselowski is doing so bad this year, he's got 1/24 the number of Jimmie Johnson

Still double Jamie McMurray. Only time BK will be "2-times" in anything.

PRN is reporting that the race should start at least around 9-10 PM EST. It hasn't been raining for 20 minutes.

I think I'd rather then show previous races during rain delays instead of what just happened in the booth.

They've already interviewed all the drivers, they've got nothing else. Show some racing.

Kevin Harvick is the best student hes had in 50 years. I find that hard to believe. Unless all his students were kids

Extremely hard to believe. Well, we know Harvick has the deepest pockets!

Pretty sure he said he's one of the best he's had in 50 years and that he was the top of the class (as in the one he's currently teaching).

Harvick was also a great wrestler in high school, if they hadn't mentioned that in the piece (I avoid TNT as much as possible).

Pulling something up, did Kyle say anything about "her" tonight? I know that through the FOX part of the season, he has one of the flag bearers of fan support. He kept up the BS for a while, I don't know when it ended though, after Vegas I decided SPEED's off-track coverage was already dead.

I apologize to everyone here. Had I not gone to the race, it would have gone on as planned and not been rained out. With my job, it's the only weekend day I'm going to have off this summer (and had been planned for months), and I get nothing to show for it. In fact, I actually came out behind as I still had to pay for the ticket and won't be able to use it because I'm back to work tomorrow. Might as well have gone to work and made some money today. :grumpy:

That I didn't know, and makes the situation more ironic. I have to admit, I think now more than ever he is the best person to talk on the subject, due to the similarities and not merit.

Yes, Kyle knows what he's talking about with that situation. After that ARCA win, he wrecked pretty much everywhere else when he was still driving his father's old cars, due to the fact that he had no experience in any type of racing.

Still, he went on to accomplish what he did, and mostly in cars that weren't the greatest. The difference between him and Danica, is that Danica isn't showing much promise in NASCAR.

That's my point when I first asked should he be saying this as if he is some great racer people aspire to be like? No, but then when you start to stack the similarities, he actually is speaking from his own poor experiences. Which is obvious more so now when you read the articles because he notes that he wasn't good. Kyle never showed much promise beside a couple of decent seasons, and perhaps that is somewhat of what people saw in her coming out of IZOD. A somewhat fast woman able to finish decent in standings a couple years.

Point is Danica bashing is like a continues troll, it's fun and hilarious for a bit, but just gets old and sad...like her driving:sly:

She isn't the only female in the garage there who has the same issues that bother me. JJC is on same lines even with crappy cars and using her looks or this female gender to keep racing while being so far off pace it's not funny.

There is another forum I read that has a guy who might as well seem to be a huge stalker of her who thinks she is the best thing in nascar which I think he does it to get a rise to some degree. The thing is everytime she finishes bad or has issue, she blames in on the car no tthe fact she might just not be all that good. I mean my favorite driver across the series is not exactly setting any worlds on fire in the oval scene but you don't seem me blaming his car or setup on his lack of talent so to speak.

I will say if you can ever find a crew chief like Jimmie/Chad have and I would think you might see a lot more top 15 running out of her but I think that would go for just about any driver in the field with a combination like that makes up hugely for lack of some talent (I don't think Jimmie is honestly all that great in terms of what he can do with a car and natural talent and put him with average crew chief and he would be 15th or so maybe little higher).

That's my point, you give any driver as long of a run Kyle had and they'll get a win or two at some point. Give them a crew chief that pushes them but cheers them on, and makes great calls the driver will be in position to win and get top tens more often than not. As you said though anyone with race craft and that matching could do it female or not. I don't care for drivers that blame the car every time they have a bad day, when you can see them make mistakes.

I just don't think she is worth the time she gets, either good comments or bad comments. It means people actually care to pay attention to her for what ever reason, but like any back marker I think people should ignore them till they do something great.
