Anything is usually better than TNT. Honestly they all have their issues in general but I stream so I can't really complain.

FOX directly changed the outcome of a race with their crap camera. Nobody else is that bad.

You know, seeing the Cup drivers do great in Nationwide just makes me wonder about the Nationwide Series. I mean- is Nationwide a true feeder series to Cup, or is Nationwide its own series rather than a traditional feeder series? Think about it from another motorsport- do you see Sebastien Vettel or Kimi Raikkonen running in GP2 races against current GP2 drivers and teams in addition to F1 Grands Prix? What IS a good thing is that you can select to compete for one championship rather than try to win every race and all the championships like a greedy pig. Not having series regulars win really just makes it feel like they have no chance getting into the higher series. How do you gain confidence going into tougher tiers of a series when you just can't beat the high-level drivers who go into a lower-level series to race?


So what do you think on the whole notion of Cup drivers dominating Nationwide? Then again, we could ask the same question about series like the NASCAR Trucks and maybe even those who take on an do well in the Whelen Modified Series. What do you all think?

This whole nationwide vs cup is played out. It isn't going to change or you are going to end up with same situation you see in IndyCar with Indy lights who showed up at Pocono with like what few cars.

I get we don't want a Joey or Kyle winning alot in lower series but look who earned a ride by beating Kyle too. There are both sides to it but I try to look at is as helping younger guys land rides because of funding or showing a talent.

Isn't it usually every race they have so few drivers?
 
I wondered why the series can't just force the Cup drivers to run with a disadvantage, like ballast or less engine power. If they complain, too bad. They already have a leg up with more experience and access to top-notch resources.

A few I thought of:
Kasey, both Busch brothers, Kenseth, Jimmie, Brad, Truex, Kenny Wallace might try to get a ride, Harvick unless his wife has a dinner party or some crap, Tony, Newman.

Guys in bold are a forgone conclusion (especially Tony, what kinda wuss doesn't drive at the track he owns :p). Others not too sure. Kyle yes, Kurt I'm not so sure about. I can't see Jimmie or Brad going for some reason, Harvick unsure. As for Kenny, he confirmed two weeks ago he won't be there because Fox wants him in the booth for that event (Yeah Fox, that's definitely what he wants to do :rolleyes:).

Sort of; if there was an off-weekend (FIA's had a 24-hour rule for a while now), and their contract permitted it, there would be no restrictions. Today's contracts largely restrict an F1 driver from doing anything but F1; maybe a test driver catches a break or two to do Le Mans, et al. It wasn't uncommon in the early days of the European F2 Championship, and somewhere around the late-1960s, that disappeared. F1 drivers with more than two points-scoring finishes in the previous season were considered "graded drivers", and were ineligible to score/rank in the F2 championship. I recall one race result whereby the 7th-place finisher was indeed "the winner"!

It's almost demeaning to see a Sprint Cup regular doing a donut because he won a Nationwide race. When you're done with the smoke there, Bobby...why don't you go beat up a posse of elementary school students at the playground? :dopey:
 
I honestly think the medium which we have now with only points towards one Championship is the best solution until we're back (if ever) to the 2006-2007 hey-days of strong attendances, viewing figures and sponsorship contracts.
 
That's hilarious. You'll never get rid of the grey area because as soon as you close those holes, someone else is gonna find more. People in this sport are too smart to be stopped.
 
Don't worry about a desperately needed real rivalry folks, NASCAR wrote the scripts and will pay Newman and Busch to not go near each other on-track for the rest of the year. :dopey:

Funny how the guy who almost lost his job (and has a brother that did lose his job) has the nerve to say how he's glad Newman Lost his job, all because he got doored on the straight. I would've just interpreted it as heat of the moment comments if he had been spun out (understandable), but just for being doored? His brother flat got spun out and he didn't even go about pointing fingers. Oh wait that's right, Kurt's the one appreciating the 2nd chance that he has.
