Well Brian wasn't very good at HMS I'd say but did aggressive (yet stupid) moves, I remember last year at a couple of the short tracks he did stupid stuff too or 2011.

Also how is Kurt Busch better than 90% in the garage @ ICEYOU

I know but I really wish I knew exactly what leads to such outlandish and I don't think he realizes that Kurt would be better than ~40 guys every weekend. You're right though I should probably just let it go...yet again, Justin should too.

I honestly believe he is a better driver than 90% of people in the garage. Who else could run the 78 in the top 5 every week and be in contention to win the championship?

PS: the answer is only a selected few. (JJ, Stewart, Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth) That's my opinion.

Woah, woah, woah, I like Matt Kenseth as much as anyone else not named Stormtrooper, but he does not have that kind of talent compared to the people that you listed there.

Well let's use a little fact here. Haas has helped carry a few races to fund that ride (even though has had sponsors) but couldn't find a 4th car next year for Newman even with said sponsors still on board. Now Kurt has been offered a ride with Haas backing with no sponsors we know of on board (Monster doesn't count).

Someone on another forum brought up something saying that Tony was not aware of any of this nor was Kurt's old CC (I forget his name because I never liked him or SHR in general even if I am a Newman fan).

It's just odd to me that all of a sudden this comes out right after Tony pretty much gets take out of the front lines, too weird of a timing for me. Granted it might all just be some random thing but I really hope Kurt sees the light and doesn't go to the 3 ring circus.
 
Maybe Haas thinks Kurt Busch is a better long term investment than Ryan Newman. I don't disagree. I think Busch is a much better driver. I think he has proved it this season.

Also, I read that the SHR offer to Kurt was made before Stewart's Sprint car accident, but was just recently leaked.

He is a better driver but that's not the right fit for him either, that's my biggest point. Kurt doesn't like being 2nd or 3rd in this case, so his ego will win out compared to FRR where he is only guy there and can make more calls.

Kurt should stay with FRR, but sadly I doubt it. Team loyality is a rare commodity nowadays.

You mean somewhere outside of the confines of your brain? Haas is still alive. Please if you are trying to even act like an actual reporter:

A) Research what you are saying to make sure you aren't lying or making things up.

B) Be Unbiased.
B) Own up to mistakes that you make by making silly "legacy" comments and literally just shouting whatever you see on ESPN as true :rolleyes:
 
I think Kurt is in a position that he can negotiate pretty much whatever he wants with Tony Stewart. As a fellow stubborn driver, I think Tony is one of the few owners that would understand Kurt's demands and be likely to help meet them. If Kurt wants to have more say over his car's pit strategy, he and Tony can find the right crew chief to help make that happen. Any crew chief worth hiring will do his best to give the driver what he needs in the setup to go faster, so setups shouldn't be an issue.

I think the three biggest selling points for Kurt should be:

1. SHR will be a legitimate three car team if he goes there. More team cars = more ideas = more chances to get a great setup. Kurt no longer has to be the guy to find all of the speed in his car every weekend. If he and his CC can't find the right setup one week, they can try Harvick or Stewart's setup, and see if it helps.

2. Hendrick equipment is the best in the garage, hands down. Week in and week out, the HMS equipment is the best overall equipment on the track. Sure, the Fords or Toyotas might have a strong track here and there, but HMS can compete anywhere and everywhere because they have more horsepower and better cars. I think Montoya said that HMS employs more engineers than Chip Ganassi employs people in his entire 2-team shop. Think about that for a minute.

3. SHR is way more likely to field a competitive pit crew. Even though Kurt is getting by on talent, without a lot of help from points 1 and 2 right now, his pit crew is killing him. I think more than both points above, this is the one that is most likely to get him to leave Furniture Row. Just this past weekend at Michigan, he went from 6th to 14th on one pit stop under caution. That probably wouldn't happen with a fully-funded SHR pit crew.
 
Newman's sponsorship is up at the end of the year, which was the initial reason that Newman wasn't going to be returning next year to race for SHR.
 
He's now just running the shop, he's given up ownership and is, for lack of a better term, helping the transition. He'll be gone by year's end.
 
Finch's last race is Richmond. The new owner will supposedly announce their buying of the team on September 1st.

I think several drivers can, it was only a few years ago when Matt wasn't winning people thought he wasn't good or an average driver at best due to the COT change. I think it has more to do with Roush Fenway equipment now days and Ford in general compared to Toyota and Chevy.

I think Brad, JJ, Gordon, Kasey Kane, Hamlin, Stewart, Edwards, Kyle, Earnhardt and basically any driver that regularly places their car in the top ten week after week. I'd probably add Bowyer to the list as well and perhaps Harvick but most likely not harvick.

Speaking of babies, Jimmie's second born is due soon, so they have Regan Smith & James Buescher on standby should the mother go into labor.
 
Jeff needs to work on spending more time with the team, more time conditioning, more time testing (not just showing up and watching someone else turn the laps), show some respect for his crew and himself on the team radio and stop scrambling for the hotel or airport every time he's allows to step out of the car. Rules is rules, blaming NASCAR for Jeff's drop off is humorous. He started losing focus when he refused to drive Busch and got himself involved in his extramarital affairs. That was Jeff's doing and he's not been the same driver since. And for all the stuff he's done for Rick, JJ has turned more Cups and maintained his personal integrity showing a narrow adherence to family values and has earned the respect and loyalty of top line sponsors, enough to help subsidize the lesser teams in the stable.

Which should be handy since a majority of the remaining races are companion events.

Actually, Hendrick doesn't keep status quo for Jeff and decided to switch things around to benefit the other teams. Although it could have benefited Jeff, it did not. I'm appalled a Jeff Gordon fan (which I know you are not) would think Jeff goes in and does absolutely nothing in order to help the team and is more absorbed in his family to even lift a finger.
 
Is that about the test session yesterday? They asked Jimmie to test the car to see if there was anything they could gain from his input. Jimmie was being a good teammate by sacrificing his time to help the 24 team in their quest to make the Chase.
