So by only seeing final 4 laps I didn't miss anything?

From what I understand, there were 2 single car spins early in the race and nothing else after that. So, no, you missed nothing.

Edit: Just saw a tweet saying the ambulance was for one of Morgan Shepard's crew members.

Just heard that on ESPN. Hope they are okay.

That is true. Double-edged sword.

Looks like NASCAR Cup schedule won't have any changes until the new TV contracts begin.

No Road America next year at least. They're still working on improving the safety aspects of the track and bringing it up to better standards.

And here's one part that got my attention:

IndyCar has said it is trying to compress its schedule next season to finish earlier and avoid competing with football for attention.

If only a certain sanctioning body would have the same common sense.

That would be terrible considering Football starts in early August. Just think, if NASCAR did that, the season would have been over nearly 2 months already and there would be 4 more until the next season starts.

Notice I only bolded "Avoid competing with NFL for attention". In other words, ditch the stupid chase and this pathetic playoff system and instead host a traditional racing season like every other sensible Sanctioning body.

One of Morgan Shepard's crew members had a jack fall on his hand and ended up with fractured fingers. That was the reason for the ambulance post-race.

We know that NASCAR isn't sensible. They are about as annoying as the FOM actually more so.

Ow, that just sounds painful.

In comparison, Trucks are about as aerodynamic as a crate so that surely helps racing? NW race was hardly a thriller despite being a short one...

I think having the cup drivers in the NW races ruins them. The rule should be that if you are running more than 5 cup races, you can't be in Nationwide. And the same for Nationwide, if you run more than 5 races there, you can't be in Truck series. Pretty simple if you ask me.

Just wait til next year and you would be surprised at aerodynamic they truly but they rely alot on the side force and drafting.

It doesn't ruin the race and without alot of those big name Cup guys, you wouldn't have a lower series worth a damn. To be honest look at what showed up at Vegas, 29 trucks because S&P didn't want to make the trip in the red. It would be even worse with out some of those guys pulling their sponsors to get their teams to the track or even their other teams help.

Look at how interested everyone is when a Cup driver wins a Nationwide race. *yawn* *zzzzzz*
