For all intents and purposes Jimmie has already won, he's just a long cruise from his crown.

2012's Champion (K4eslowski)was simply an anomaly. It does demonstrate that unplanned things can happen, even to Rick Hendrick, in NASCAR. But, Hendrick's firm grip doesn't allow those things to happen often.

Johnson will be Champion, again, unless numerous unforeseen and uncontrolled by Rick Hendrick things occur, i.e. wrecks, flat tires, mechanical breakdowns, Kenseth goes on another hot streak..etc

NASCAR = Now A Sport Controlled According to Rick.

That quite ignorant of you to say, there is a 4 point gap this is not over yet and for you to insist it is odd but not shocking. Especially since it is coming from you after all. JJ doesn't have this in the bag yet and these last four tracks are great for Kenseth.

Martinsville has not been a strong track for Kenseth historically, and Johnson has been absolutely dominant there (along with Hamlin). Expect the points lead to increase this week, barring unforseen circumstances.

Of course, Kenseth's Martinsville struggles could just be Roush-related, as Roush has never had a good short/flat track program. Kenseth had never run well at New Hampshire before he won there five weeks ago. Maybe a JGR car is all he needs to pick up his pace at Martinsville.

I'm glad you actually type out all angles most w3ould have stopped at the first portion. You explained the portion I thought I would have had to, and that considering NH race and him running for JGR show a world of difference from his Roush days and that is why I think Kenseth can make something happen. I think this will run to the end honestly.

Kenseth also ran a lot better at Richmond this year, another track where Kyle and Denny have helped JGR field great cars over the past few years.

I still think Kenseth will be happy to finish top 10 this weekend, and would be thrilled with a top 5. Anything less than winning will be a disappointment for the 48 team.

The pressure will really be on Kenseth to outperform Johnson at Texas and Homestead, which he can absolutely do. I think Johnson is probably also favored at Phoenix.
 
Johnson will need to build up a good lead here and at Phoenix. I think the two are fairly evenly matched at Texas; let's face it, to be championship-caliber as a driver you have to be exceptional at the 1.5 mile tracks. Neither one have been that amazing at Homestead; Kenseth has had a win, but his average finish is 17.62 to Jimmie's 15.33. It's going to be a close one, that's for sure.

No. 5-Time cannot lose, His championship is already bought and paid for. Helton will throw all the cautions needed to ensure he wins should he have an accident, he might even allow them to pull out a backup, red flag the race, and give Johnson a few dozen practice laps just to make sure Rick Hendrick gets his 11th championship that he paid Helton for. This entire sport is about money, popularity, and whatever person pays Helton the most money.

Best of luck to everybody racing this weekend around Martinsville and elsewhere. Race hard and be safe. NASCAR Trucks will be circling around Martinsville later today.
 
If you play sports (including motorsports), you may face the prospect of dealing with concussions- especially in contact sports. Doctors have no place in NASCAR? Try telling that to NFL football or college football. I like Brad Keselowski, but that was a bonehead thing to say. Any sort of contact sport or sport that involves contact is VERY much something that should concern doctors. Sports are dangerous; almost any discipline of motorsport is especially dangerous. A driver who gets into a crash is about as screwed as a running back who simply gets tackled or brought down on a play. You have that sort of injury factor. And if "doctors know nothing about NASCAR," maybe this can be an opportunity for doctors to understand the sport and help out the drivers if need be. I'd call it a learning lesson.

But come on now... surely disagree with Bad Brad on this one.

:lol:👍 Well he was just telling the truth. I called it last week when Austin wrecked at Dega, and I called it this week a few laps before Ty took out Harvick.
 
Can't say I'm surprised with that interview, all I essentially heard was what he's been wanting to say this entire time.
