He is the poster boy for Nascar,so they let him get by with anything. His car was way too fast tonight to be legal.

On a NASCAR gaming forum, I read something that a member said, claiming that the sideskirt on the driver's side of Jimmie's car was pulled out to add another 25-50 pounds of downforce. While it does sound like another 'anti-Jimmie conspiracy', it does bring up some suspicion. He also said that it could just be fixed in victory-lane by having a crew member kick it inwards.

I'm not buying it. What about anyone else?

Aren't you guys tired of him winning? He was already caught twice this year cheating. I know he is still doing it.

I wasn't aware that sheet metal is that malleable from just a single kick. Is this gamer kid ever done engineering with materials?

Sure but sounding like a crack pot as you've done doesn't change that he wins. Also if you know he's doing it and getting away with it I guess we can amount that all teams are to some degree.

Calling me a crack pot. real funny man.

Since I'm already mad I'll go ahead and state my opinion on this stupid chase. They need to get rid of the Chase system. It is a load of crap and when the Chase starts everyone has to play nice because of the drivers in the chase. I've hated the chase since it has started. It needs to go back to the Winston Cup days

Glad I decided to skip the last 80 laps.

Came in from outside to catch the end of the victory lane coverage to see what I expected.

I love JJ haters, to answer your question, no I don't. If someone is constantly winning, they're obviously doing something right. Also taking a wild guess, your favourite driver is Dale JR? :)

Yeah it was a really boring race man. Nothing to see here as Johnson's cheating ways lands him another easy win.

So basically from what I'm reading, we're back with the Anti-Johnson conspiracies now that he has won a race. Shocker  Its one thing to dislike a driver, but its just asinine to flat come up with all this nonsense.

Been a Gordon fan since he first started in the Winston Cup days.

Before that it was Harry Gant and Davey Allison.

You're welcome :sly:.

We all agree with you on that, your more crazy outlandish claims have us at a loss.

For all intents and purposes 5-time has already won, he's just a 800-mile cruise from his crown.

And the other crack pot joins the party.

*tinfoil hat alert* When the commentators have to read the scripted commentary written by NASCAR before every race, they'll never bash any of NASCAR' decisions on-air. :dopey: *end tinfoil hat alert*

*adjusted his for said alert*

That makes all the sense in the world!!!

My favorite driver is. That a problem? Or does it only become the proverbial line of rhetoric to retort when someone says something stupid and negative about JJ. In other words you retort with some of equal measure?

I am about as Anti JJ as anyone but if you think he is only one who pushes the limits or cheats then you are by far clueless in terms of the sport. Do I like that they seem to always have a golden horse shoe, no but guess what I don't let it ruin my view on the sport either just like Cup guys in lower series doesn't bother me on any level for a few reasons.

Sure the 48 team has things figured out for the chase which is awesome because they know how to play the game. Do I like the chase, no not really because it never lets things really show who was best all year and No I don't care if we have a champion with 5 races to go under the old system if that could happen. Alot of things have happened and more than a championship is on the line for folks.

I always laugh at 2 things about nascar fans. One is the hate on anyone doing well or mainly the 48 team, and 2nd is all the hate for Cup guys period who run lower series over young guys who people assume are owed something too; my point is no one is owed a thing here, you earn it for most part and if someone wants to foot the bill for young guys then great but most want the most bang for their buck with someone people know more.

Ryan Preece becomes the youngest Whelen Modified Series champion at age 22. All hail the young 2013 Whelen Modified champ!

As for the Cup race at Texas, looks like some AAA talent won the AAA Texas 500. Yep- Mr. Jimmie Johnson won. I didn't see this race at all or even bothered follow the race. I just didn't follow the race. Found out Matt Kenseth finished 4th. According to the posts I read, Jeff Gordon crashed out and finished 38th. Sad break for Jeff Gordon. Fellow Texan (Corpus Christi) Bobby LaBonte finished 40th.

Texas is now in the rear view mirror. Bring on Phoenix next week!

Do we get tired of one guy winning all the time, yeah. The only driver I can think of that didn't catch hell for it was Richard Petty, and it's not just NASCAR(see one Sebastian Vettel, or the New England Patriots). That's the only reason people hated Jeff and hate Jimmie, just like they hated Dale Sr. back in a day. Also, fans can be the biggest babies or biggest jerks of anyone aside from politicians, especially when things don't go how they believe they should. Also, is this not the forum that dismisses any track regularly when an unnecessary repave is done?

As for the 'Jimmie Johnson School of Beating Everyone and Making it Look Easy' AAA Texas 500, Once pitstops cycled the 48 was almost never out of the top 5, lead the most laps with ease, and of course won. Jr. was a distant second , followed by Logano, Kenseth (who did lead a lap). I'll put this simply, the only car that could run with the 48 at anytime was the 99 early and the 20 very, very, VERY late in the run. Something odd though, Kyle cut a tire at the end of a run, then Jeff's went early the next run, and I con only remember one more direct tire issue, Montoya's. I don't know what Edwards dropped, so that may have been one too, but it didn't look the part.

Now hear this, the reason I got to go was that my dad procured some gift tickets from a CAT dealer, with hospitality included. Free lunch, drinks, a pit tour, race ticket, and a free hat. Big deal though, A small Q&A and autograph session with Jeff Burton. He seems to be a cool guy, fairly quick witted as well, but during the Q&A he was asked about the current state of the racing, and said some things I wasn't expecting. First, that while the tracks with lots of grip are OK, apparently the drivers prefer slicker tracks, mainly because it means they have to drive the car as opposed to riding around. Not all that surprising, as it's heard with some regularity, but the second was the one that caught me off guard. Jeff mentioned leaving North Wilkesboro and Rockingham, then repaving Darlington just to take one race away, replacing them with 1 1/2 mile tracks, and stated that the racing has suffered since then because NASCAR has amnesia. Apparently, NASCAR has heard the constant droning, and has tried to make the racing better...by testing taking downforce and grip away from the cars. These test were "complete, total failures" as the cars were undrivable by all involved. So instead the last few test have looked at adding downforce to the cars, and the results were that the pack closed up. Problem is, NASCAR has it in their heads "faster, faster, faster" and keeps reverting to type, so no surprise there. Lastly, he thinks that the engines should make less power. Make no mistake, he likes having the 870 HP they make, but he thinks the racing would be better if they would take it down a bit, about 780-800 HP, and after thinking about it I think he's right.

Useless info, but maybe food for though for those interested. He got my attention for sure. His plans for next year aren't finalized, so being the professional he is he divulged nothing beyond not driving the 31 next season. Again, no surprise.

Remember...the #48 left Texas last year with a 7 point lead and the #2 won the Championship. It's not over until the last lap at Homestead.
