Where are you getting that information?

Just assuming it's going to be the case for the 2011 group. The rules will be updated soon, if they say differently I'll change the list. But it's safe to say this will end up being the likely scenario.

They need to get off their booty and update it. Doesn't take weeks to add a sentence into the rule sheet.

Unless they are actually considering letting you guys race in which case that would take some time.

GTPCrispyOne
That's one of my main time-suck areas. I spent my time yesterday in Practice 3 trying to burn those turns into my brain.

I like that aspect of the trial. I can get a lot more practice on the parts of the track where I need the most work. I hope GT6 will have this feature for any track, or at least the long ones. ;)
It's nice to have although the downside is difference in speed (Sector 2 especially) and tire temperature.

On a side note, I experimented with wheel settings yesterday with little success. I did find out that, at least with my dinosaur DFPro, the controller sensitivity option has the same subtle effect as in GT5.

Those are a lot of names off the list. I also find it strange to be added for just being to fast. What is the reason behind that?
Will this rule change be done in time or will it be for the following year?

hahaha..

Zuel, look at their names. It is quite obvious why they are not eligible. They have both posted on this thread also..

On another note. I am now 43rd. I have made zero improvements on my time, however I took copse like MAGIC today. I have the sectors for a 17.5 but i'm just so inconsistent. I better go grab a brew, I feel some of my possessions are in danger.

It's a joke, he's actually from Canada.

I really don't under some of the ruling they have at the moment but I looked forward to seeing it changed. I want to see Turbo and car back in it, they helped me push to get as fast as them and I'm there but not consistent.

Ha nice, we are tied! I'm in that same boat...so inconsistent. I've ran more than a few invalid mid 17's and I really had to walk away for a bit haha.

Changed their (reason for ineligibility) so it's clearer.

WOOHOO! After a horrible night last might I'm back in the game tonight. Working on a 2:21.6 right now and I see where I need the speed but at least for the moment I've reached my goal of sitting in the top 1,000 at 935. I'm actually starting to think I "may" have a shot at finishing out 2013 in the top 500!

This is quite an improvement over my 5,000ish finish last year :-(

Of course... the count is WAY down this year. Still...

Better day today. Clicked off a few 17.9~18.1s back to back. Had an epic T1 one lap but lost it all at the Loop. My two times better than my 17.884 was on three and two lap old tires, which surprised me greatly. Hmmmm.

Yeah Rich. I've also noticed that the left set of tires stay light yellow from Stowe and affect the last two right handers as well as T1 (refering to one of your previous posts rather than this ^ one).
I'm not sure, but iirc, the tires are white/light blue during the first ~2 laps, then they start to absorb heat, and start losing grip, especially in the right hand corners obviously..

So for me, it's 2 laps -> restart

so there is actually tire wear in this? mind blown

No, not wear.. But the tires absorb heat (as in real life), and a too warm tire does'nt function optimal..
So it lacks grip due to temp, not due to wear.

Ugh . can't anything lower than 2.23.

What I found to work for me is turn the ghost off and just concentrate on clicking off consecutive clean laps and DO NOT pay attention to your times. Eventually you'll go faster without even realizing it. Pretend that youre ahead of your ghost on each lap and you just want to be careful to stay ahead.

Its been working for me anyway.

Thanks for the update Eddie. I only put in 90 minutes for the entire demo from Sunday Cup through the Bonus TT. If you hadn't updated ineligibility, I would've put some time into GTA2013 this weekend.

I've been doing this pretty much actually. Just alternateing the laps i have the ghost on. I just need to take some breaks. At least every time I do a stint I lower my time so I have that going for me.

Wardez if you are correct, there are 14 people ahead of me that are ineligible. Leaving me in 30th.

I didn't expect to improve today... I am so inconsistent most of my improvement comes when I get comfortable trying to match my previous pace.. I usually destroy my time by .5 to .7 then I spend the next day or two making that consistent. And then similarly improve the same way again. I was pretty ruff on the wheel today, verbally and physically. I hope I can get a mid to low 17 before I decide to sacrifice it to the fire gods of super satisfying melted plastic.

2:21.345 tonight, getting there slowly...

^^

I'm almost close to your score, I achieved 2:21.615 last night and ranked 925th place on the US leaderboards! Getting closer to my goal in the 2:17 mark and a higher rank.

And after watching Tidgeny's video (I just watched the early corners and how to approach them, since I had problems with Abbey and Village corners.) I have to say, thanks with the tips and how to hit the first corners, I'll watch the rest later to study the rest of the track. Thanks! 👍

Ya I ended the night at 831 last night. Since I made my goal of cracking the top 1k I'm now going for the top 500. Never thought id get this far!

I've watched so many tutorial videos its not even funny. oink has a few out there too that are pretty good. The biggest problem I have with the advise soa far is that I finally realized I'm just not going fast enough for some of them to work! :(

I dont exist club fast enough so if I turn in as soon at turn 1 as tidgney I invalidate the lap on inside or slide out to the left way too far.

I've got to get my average mph up before entries on the fast sections...

I realized one of my problems was switching from Chase cam (DS3) to bumper cam for the wheel. Those two massive changes along with using sports soft and racing hards almost exclusively have left me borderline retarded when it comes to choosing lines and knowing what the car is doing behind me.. So I am also just not going fast enough.

Why don't you still use chase cam with the wheel? That's the one I use 👍

I actually think of you mentioning that in one of the time trial threads on a daily basis. I find it so much harder to control the car on corner exits using Chase cam. I suppose I should give it a serious try though. The learning curve for that might be less than the new view.

You're weird. :p

Did you see a car @ silverstone with a big driving boom hanging off the back of it to accommodate those that got used to chase cam? :sly:
