btw, just came across this Valdudes video:


I linked to 6 minutes in the video, where he says that National Finals are going to be in New York City. First I've heard, anywhere, of the location being mentioned.

3rd year running, another talented gamer from the United States will become a Nissan racing driver.

This OP will be updated as the competition develops, posted with details and tips on all phases of the event.

First confirmed competitor moving on past the time trial stage to National Finals is Armen Aghakhan, Racer X.

Time trials + Racer X (32) > National Finals (16) > Silverstone (1)

Remember, this competition only gets as serious as you want it to be.

Keep in mind this is an incomplete list. I will update it in the OP as frequently as possible as soon as I'm made aware of ineligible contestants. Some of the names in the top may be too young still, or from another country, or past contestants with a name change. We won't know until after deadline hits and Sony/Nissan reach out to the top 31 to confirm eligibility so it could be a few days of nail-biting on edge anxious terrifying waiting for those just out of the top 31 to ~45 since it's quite possible to make it from that far back seeing how many return players we're getting.

It would help out a lot for others to reach out and let me know of names I missed.

I wish I could be selected for this but sadly I haven't gotten my wheel as yet. I would love to go through the training, it looks very interesting and I know that I will learn a lot and grow as a better driver. Such a dream though :-(. Although I know GTA has a partnership with Nismo, I would like to stand out and be a the first MR driver for Nismo, but the car concept I have in mind already.
 
Demo is now available on the US PSN store. 5 hours early ;)👍
 
I just tried the store. I had to install a patch for the store and GT6 demo was not listed. I searched and it was not there. They might of pulled it already to release at the correct time.
 
I'm downloading it now also in Eastern USA.

Search "GT" in the playstation store and you will find it

I couldn't find it except by using the search function.
 
Thank, it is downloading. I do like that it says it is disc only yet I get it from the PSN Store.
 
I ran a lap earlier, think I was 41st in the US at the time. I could easily take a second or two off that lap though.
 
I came home from my karting league to see that I've fallen to 21st place. :lol: Looks like I got some work to do.

Make sure you guys have simulation steering turned on!

I made it a point to switch to that right away. But then after a couple hours of the qualifier on my UK account earlier, i realized I forgot to turn off the TC, it was at 7 the whole time!

Bromigo, you better make it! I know you can do it man, you're a shoe-in. Don't know whether your lack of activity in the past year will hurt of help, but no matter, give it your all and you'll make it on through.
 
Woo this is fun. :D Not a big fan of the invisible lines or the lighting but a great track for this car. after about 20 or so laps I'm down to a 18.735, and there's probably at least 3-4 tenths left. Looking forward to some awesome, if not sliiiightly stressful, 26 days. :P Good luck to everyone 👍

I've only been playing GT for a little over a year and this is my first GTA so I'm not really expecting much. Right now I'm ranked 490th with a time a little over 2:23. My goal by the end of this is to get my time down to 2:20 and finish at least in the top 500. Just have to figure out how to get that time down.
 
Even with the drifting on corner entry (luckily it really is only for 2 corners), I am finding speed to be more obtainable this time around. When I am slow, it is painfully obvious.

A 2:17.000 is definitely possible. I think the cut off for US will probably be the top time now, around a 2:18.5. Top ten will probably be 2:17.6-8


Also, can we get a PSN list of all the people who have made it to Silverstone in the past two seasons (those who are ineligible), so we can know what the actual top 31 is? I would not be surprised if the 32 of you fill up the top 31.

"Contestants must not have an existing competition driving contract with any motor sports team, body, agent or management company that conflicts with his/her ability to accept the Prize," is listed twice in a row. I think one of them is supposed to say no previous Silverstone finalists. The UK rules don't allow previous Silverstone finalists, so I don't think the US one will be any different...
