Well, ESPN just showed a breaking news alert in the ticker saying that Spain lost. Well, I kind of know that since I watched the game....
 
An Aussie victory wouldn't go amiss next Monday with Spain playing so woefully.

I don't think those wounds would appreciate a heavy dose of salt, though.

I don't really follow soccer. I only "like" it during the world cups, so pardon the potentially stupid question.

So, who gets to play against who in groups A and B? Is it 1st place A vs 1st place B or do they scramble 1st vs 2nd?
 
I think Spain would be well advised to get on the plane with the Australians and stay there for a few months.
 
Well, today was a good day. Though, Holland played like crap, they won. And, Spain is out!!!

Thanks fellas. Hopefully Croatia won't beat us and we'll get to play the Netherlands or Chile.
 
1st Group A vs 2nd Group B, 1st Group C vs 2nd Group D etc.. Also both teams(from any group) will be on opposite side of the knockout draw and can't play each other again until the final(or 3rd place playoff).

Just thought, if you had a group where every match was 1-1 draw. How do you decide which two teams go through?

They would draw lots. Literally draw a short straw!
 
Seems slightly unfair. My first instinct would be do based on FIFA ranking, possibly giving it to the two lowest ranked teams as you can argue they put on a better performance by holding off superior teams.

Rack up the goals and force a Brazil defeat in the last match!
 
It still boggles the mind that Del Bosque would take an injured Costa, past-it Villa and the useless Torres and leave Fernando Llorente at home. But it's Del Bosque, who got away with consistent bad decisions for 6 years because of his world class players and the base that Aragones built.

Cameroon are now with 10. Song did a silly elbow attack while the ball wasn't even close, but the ref was.
