I used to drive down a 40km stretch of highway that semi-trailers used to use because it offered easy access to some of the larger cattle yards in the area. Despite the road being so narrow, the speed limit was 100km/h. At the time I was driving a two-door coupe, so it wasn't exactly a small car, but I always remember gripping the wheel just a little more tightly every time one of those cattle trucks stormed past me because the turbulence they generated always made the car unstable.

So when Rosberg is driving a high-powered mid-engined rear-wheel drive racing car in difficult conditions, and he says that a gust of wind caught him off-guard at the worst possible moment - right when he is applying power - then I am willing to believe it.

I wasn't saying he was lying,
I drive down a motorway that's raised a good 30-40 feet with nothing but flat land around it, I'm in a ford focus and I get blown all over the lane even on calm days, I have even been pulled over because the police thought I was drink driving, I was on the high bit and they was further back and the gust didn't effect them

I was agreeing with you.

Merhi, Stevens, Ericsson, Alonso, Vettel all out in Q1.

Button was quick enough for P9, Alonso was set to improve on his time until he picked up a puncture.
-

Grosjean, Nasr, Maldonado, Button & Verstappen all out in Q2.

Did Vettel have a problem, did they mis-time his fast run and think he had time for another... what happened?

Dull track is dull, let's hope for rain in the race. And yes, I know :D

Vettel had a power loss, Alonso had a puncture...

Six poles in a row for Rosberg!, brilliant last lap from him, Hamilton 2nd with Raikkonen 3rd...

Great laps by Rosberg, Räikkönen, Perez and Ricciardo. 👍

McLaren showing quite good speed which is promising for next year.

Both Rosberg and Hamilton went over the track limits so who cares how fast the lap was....

Are you talking about the 2nd to last corner? Apparently you don't gain an advantage there because it unbalances the car before you brake into the final corner.

Several corners over the lap. Hamilton was over the line on the exit of the final turn - opening it out. You can't tell me that didn't gain him something.

Sorry, I'm just not all that impressed with the sudden increase of pace of the second-best driver in the best car after his teammate has clinched the championship, said teammate has pot-walloped him all season long, and has a contract at the same seat the following year.

I'm not drinking the Slow News Day Kool-Aid.

That's a low point for Carlin.
They've been pretty low for a while now. Their GP2 line-up has been a revolving door of pay drivers all season long, and those who have shown promise - like Stoneman - have been seriously under-performing.

What, exactly, are you insinuating? That post could be interpreted several different ways.

I guess the proof whether Rosberg really has upped his game or not will come next year. I know many Hamilton fans will claim Hammy's sandbagging (not too likely looking how peeved off he looked in Mexico and Brazil) and Rosberg just being free of any title pressure. The last one might have some truth to it, Rosberg could be using these last few races as a chance to reset mentally and start focusing on 2016.
