Well that was a lively start.

EDIT- Nasr hit Alonso which in turn spun him into Maldonado.

Sainz did well

I have the GP on in the background while listening to the Spurs match and not paying too much attention but did Pastor just get Pastor'd by Alonso of all people?

Turn 1 Incident between Alonso and Maldonado will be investigated. Strange they aren't investigating Nasr as it seemed he started the chain reaction.

Alonso has a drive through penalty for causing a collision. Is Nasr invisible or something?

Good thing that we waited for a replay before we started the Maldonado bashing.

Oh, nvm.
That's why I left the question mark there.

Thats gotta be one of the liveliest opening few laps this year.
Yas marina always seems to deliver an action packed race.

What the hell, Bottas and Williams?

bottas hits button in the the pitlane

just front wing no mechnics hit

Okay... what? How was Alonso at fault there? Go home Stewards, you're illegally drunk in the UAE.
I can't clearly see exactly who it was but I'm sure it was a Sauber and not Alonso.

And that's Bottas' race done

I wonder if the Williams team thought that was Alonso doing his drive through.

Did any debris fly into the pit lane stands? I saw a piece go upward.

Well he still crashed...
Might be, but there was nothing he could've done to not get involved.

Really tough luck for Bottas.

Those first 10 laps have been more exciting than most of the races this year. Hopefully the race will stay this way.

Bottas gets hit for an unsafe release. I suppose that's justified.

Alonso moved over into Nasr.

I don't think he did. Nevertheless, the penalty actually has been applied for hitting Maldonado, not hitting Nasr, so the stewards did not think that Alonso cut Nasr up. Following on from that, Alonso has been saying on his radio that his wheels were in the air so he was going to either hit Maldonado or the wall, and it was out of his hands.

Tracklimits?

It was a messy one. Looks like Bottas was hesitating about whether or not to stop, I guess the team told him to go. Game over, I think.

Hitting MAL was the unfortunate cause of Alonso drifting into Nasr so either way it was Alonso at fault.

Alonso wants to retire his car

Well this has turned out to be a bit of a fizzer...

What, exactly, are you insinuating? That post could be interpreted several different ways.

I'm a little surprised that people are surprised Nico is a bit faster, after the championship was decided, at a pace he should have been for roughly half the races, no? After all, he's in the same team that has dominated the last two seasons.

In other news, Ferraris are kind of red.

Vettel actually let his teammate pass after being asked to by the team.

And yes, I do hear it is snowing in hell.
