Saw my first convertible tonight on my way back from a trip to Phoenix.
 
pricing for The Mustang GT in Australia may figure around $60K. A manager just got back from a Ford conference in san fran and Vegas. No word on the EcoBoost. though, he did notice that F-150 are mainly spec'd in V6T petrol. not a diesel in sight.

They look really nice, for a variant that I hate. I saw one on the 101 a couple weeks ago with the top down and I liked it quite a bit compared to other convertible. And I usually outright hate convertibles especially those made by Ford with a mustang badge.
 
I have seen several of the new S550 Mustangs around here in Las Vegas since late 2014-early 2015.

I'm beginning to like the new Mustang a little bit more, especially since I've seen a GT in blue with white stripes. But I have a stronger love connect to the S197s, New Edge or (I personally call them SN00s), the SN95 and the older 'Stangs the most. ;)
 
Saw my first 2015 today. Wow, I was blown away. It looks so much better in person.

-25 degree windchill and 5 feet of snow with 35ft piles in spots on the sides of roads from loaders :(
 
It was only fun on snow days and Christmas. I had to repair/replace downed telephone lines back in the days.

It is amazing how we see this concept and then the official Mustang.

That looks more like a Mondeo, than it looks like a Mustang, to me.
 
Anyone notice the speedometer needle jumping up when the car shifts?

I had to go to Phoenix on Saturday for a dealership appointment, and the whole trip I saw no less than 8 of these. They are everywhere now.

Richard Petty built Mustangs. 627hp, only 143 being built.

Petty’s Garage, the performance house run by racing legend Richard Petty, has teamed up with Ford to build 143 special edition Mustang GTs. Petty Motorsports runs a Mustang in NASCAR’s Xfinity series along with two Ford Fusions in Sprint Cup.

One hundred of the cars will be Stage 1 models featuring a 627 hp supercharged Ford Racing/Roush Performance supercharged 5.0-liter V8, MagnaFlow center exhaust, HRE FlowForm wheels, Petty’s Garage body kit including a stock car-inspired spoiler, custom upholstery and Richard Petty’s autograph on the dash. They’ll sell for $62,410, including the price of the donor car.

Forty-three Stage 2 models will also be offered for $92,410 and fitted with Petty Blue trimmed three-piece 20-inch forged HRE wheels, a Wildwood big brake upgrade with Petty Blue calipers, and a two-tone black over (you guessed it) Petty Blue paint job with the number 43 ghosted into the roof pillars.

Both versions come with Ford/Roush and Petty’s Garage warranties covering the add-on parts. Orders for build slots are now being taken at all Ford dealerships nationwide.

The specs sound tempting, but the blue colour does not. I get it that it's Petty's official colour of sorts, but it just doesn't suit the car...
 
If it were up to me, I would have those Mustangs painted in black with blue stripes.
 
It's hard for me to see Petty with Ford, after me watching him race Dodges and Pontiacs while I grew up. I know he has to move with the times, but it doesn't suit.
 
That's not the pretty petty blue I remember. It looks abhorrent.

Do the convertibles get a manual option in the US? It looks like ours aren't getting one and that's really disappointing. I've said before that a V8 manual convertible could be in my sights in a couple years but if they aren't offered then that may be out of the question :(
 
So by "teamed up with Ford" does that mean that Petty took 143 fully built Mustang models and painted them blue?
 
Pricing for Finland, sit down and hold on..

52742 Euro for Ecoboost and 76240 for the V8.. And yes, that's the basic model price, without options. Multiply with 1.10 if you want the price in USD, not that it would be any less sickening..
