Rosberg was the one who made the mistake, he had a chance to win this race but he didn't take it. Hamilton looked slightly faster as the track dried, Rosberg wouldn't have had such a massive lead cut if he hadn't burned his tyres at the start of the first option stint.

I love Nico, but would kill for a team of Lewis and Seb (throw in Alonso if it's a 3 car team).

Sore loser Nico, he is the one who ****ed up...
Maybe that's the point.

Maybe he was remembering every overtake he didn't do, every pit stop he didn't call, every move he didn't defend was passing through his mind and it would almost certainly have hurt, especially after losing the title last year under circumstances he couldn't control.

He clearly wasn't in a joking mood, which is understandable, so Hamilton goading him in the way he did suggests a sore winner as well as a sore loser.

Also, RBR, from hero to zero in a couple of laps!

Hahaha, that hat throw was brilliant.

Rosberg, definition of a sore loser.

Amazing race over all, so many plot twists. Will be watching this race again just to catch all the action that happened.

I have to say, more F1 races should end with Daft Punk.

Less with Elton John, mind...

Well he is a douchebag, to be fair. A great driver, a great racer, but a massive douche!

Why cause he passes out the hats and the teenage runner up to prom queen rather sulk in a corner as he's tossed the hat. Looks harmless, since Lewis handed the 3rd place cap to Seb.

The Lewis witch hunt needs to stop really. From "aw that tattoo looks stupid" to "you see how he handed the hats out, what a douche".

So certainly a hectic race, not as classic as Hungary but it was quite something.

Well done to Lewis and Mercedes, but someone has to give them a sustained challenge sooner or later. Preferably several people/teams.

Glad to see the McHondas finish as well as they did.

Props to Rossi for surviving the race. Starting to hope Manor writes up an offer to him for next season.

Great job by both Ricciardo & Kvyat. Both fought hard to challenge the Mercs, and create some great racing in the process.

Gutted for Williams' double DNF. Does anyone even know what happened to Massa?

Driver of the day goes to Max. Drove a great race and probably could've gotten a podium. (Ok, maybe not, but still...)

Now, onto Mexico!

Yeah, missed that originally. Just saw that in the gif as well.

It was belittling and demeaning. That dampened the celebrations for me.

Rosberg may have been sulking, but that was rubbing it in.

All he did was toss the hat & he's the douche.
Tossed the hat..and was a poor loser on the podium too. Your mate just won the world title, stop being a baby about it. Suck it up. :sly:

As if Rosberg still had a chance. This is how his season is going. He cracks under pressure, and Lewis doesn't.

So, can we all stop crying and be offended about a hat.

I don't blame Nico for being pissed off, yet again Lewis pushed him off the track at the start, without punishment.

It was a harmless hat toss. It became something when Rosberg chucked it back like an angsty teen.

hsv

Tossing a hat is rubbing it in?

Participation awards for everyone coming in 2016 now.

No he didn't. Lewis had the better start and that followed up to the inside line. Smart move by Lewis. Poor start by Nico.

What witch hunt? What are you talking about? All I said was I think he's a douche. And this isn't just down to the cap incident. Doesn't take away from the fact he's a great racing driver. It isn't a crime not to like Lewis Hamilton, believe it or not! And I shouldn't have to explain myself just because I don't follow the herd in believing he's the second coming of Jesus.

Bit of Euro vocal house thumping in the Mercedes garage... all but one of them is going to have a good party tonight

He hit him and pushed him of the track, it's all well and good taking the lead but he didn't stop the car in time and caused a collision.

Fantastic race!, well done to Vestappen, we didn't really know he was going to win until maybe the last five laps, great action right the way through and down the grid, race of the season!

It is rubbing it in, when it has "2nd" written on it in big fat letters. Perhaps Hamilton didn't mean any harm with it, but I can understand Rosberg not appreciating the gesture.

Rosberg just blamed Lewis in the presser to drive into him at the start of the race. Oh snap!
