I don't like it but let's face it, with the way the Nissan engine dominates in Europe at the moment it won't be a huge change.

Maybe it will bring costs down and increase how competitive the category is, but at the same time it risks driving the wealthy amateurs away from what will become a blander category and towards Blancpain.

Where the real fear lies is the possible introduction of spec chassis, however.

Had two "what the utter crap is this" moments reading this thread. One by Nissan... and the other one by... well it involves Nissan...

The fact that they already went the route of a spec engine seems to already indicate the end is near.

Its messed up because it goes completely against the idea the Manufacterers were tossing around about having make specific bodywork. They'll easily lose a lot of interest with this and then whanever they decide to go through with that stupid cutting down to four constructors, that'll drive even more people away.

While their livery choice is horrid, it doesn't come close to the idiotic decision of putting a Spec engine in a class that usally isn't spec.

Tiga (Embassy) have already scrapped a LMP2 plan after the 4 chassis news and appears ESM may axe the HPDs already.

Last I read, they went with the ARX-03Bs for Sebring while HPD was working on the 04a and were using the Ligiers for WEC. Guess at this point, they might as well just stay with Ligier.

I'm currently having a crack at the Nissan livery. After one hour, you can kinda see the direction I'm aiming for:

So Nissan themselves have modernised the R390 livery and placed it on this car?

The city livery is for the mock up, displaying in Manchester tomorrow. Phew.

Oh thank goodness, I thought they lost their minds with that.

It looks like the new TS040 leaked early. Youll have to look closely to see the changes.

The front end has revised air intakes while the openings after the front wheel has been modified too. It's a pity the hi-res photos were removed but seeing as they put up in error it's not surprising.

I am looking forward to the WEC Prologue next week to get those hi-res shots and a comprehensive tech spec.

I'm noticing Mobil 1 supporting the Toyota team now along with Porsche.

Well I'll be darned, I didn't even notice that. Kinda ironic considering who supported them back in 1999.

There's one thing I can say, the headlights have gone through a massive upgrade. The front look much better now.

Reading about these new LMP3 cars and the idea that they will be 2 sec per lap faster than a GTE doesnt add up. They are the same weight as a LMP2, around 420 hp, and steel brakes instead of carbon. What am I missing here?
