Looking at @Roo 's picture I will never understand how on Earth you guys manage to use the left arm and hand to do your gear-shifting (and hand-braking) :D

Neither do I. I was using the flappy paddles. So was @Tom:

I have to say- these cars and these drivers are why I have always loved sportscar racing. Especially the top-level prototypes are some of the most fascinating race cars in existence. And for someone who's been out of the loop mostly, it has been great seeing these cars in action on some of the world's toughest racing courses. I wished I could have seen more of the Six Hours of Silverstone, but there are few times I am disappointed seeing almost any sportscar race, even this past weekend's Six Hours of Silverstone with the fabulous teams and drivers of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Oh, and all of you who took your own pictures of this race, you all take some great pictures. 👍 👍 to all of you shutterbugs.

it looks pretty fast.

Anyone going to have a go at working out the distance of the track displayed so we can create out own speed trap data? :lol:

length of the main straight is 2300 feet or meters?

5" on the map = 48000" IRL

My measurement is that the visible track length is 2.5" = 24000" = 2000' = 0.379 miles.

Well they are doing 50-odd second laps. Also I found a pic of the GTR yesterday, I think Nissan are testing the hybrid but being sneaky.

Revised math puts it at 0.439 miles.

I'm switching between the 2 track cameras while the car doing the lap.

One lap I followed was around 52 seconds, about 136 MPH average.
I was going to time laps, but the test looks over. :(

2 things from today;

1 - NCM Motorsport Park is going to shoot to the top of the GT6 Track Wish List.

2 - No other factory team (from any series) is going to hire the circuit until these CCTV cameras are taken down.

:lol:
