Pretty sure most of the cars do have waivers somewhere on them.

GTE rules I thought were identical to GT2 though (just category renaming)?

Back when GTE first started maybe, but they have evolved since then. I remember Radio Le Mans coverage of the first race of a ALMS season, I don't know which, saying that the GTE regulations had been set to match the Ferrari 458 GTE exactly. Its Specification became the GTE specification.

That would explain why the 458 has lasted so long (though also homologation can last 7 years I think l, hence why the 997 Porsche is still eligible).

I was chatting to Nick Tandy about GTE a few days ago, and he was saying how much more bespoke each generation of car is becoming. Definitely at quite a rapid rate too.

Heres just a short "list" from what I can remember, not even doing any digging-

BMW; obviously the V8, the width of the car (over 2000mm) is too much of a gap between the road car's width etc.

Ferrari; speaking on width, iirc, it was the first car to go beyond the 2000mm width and required a waiver. Corvette noted it in 2012 and the rules changed that season so everyone ran 2000mm+. It also had a waiver to run an earlier spec (year) rear wing this season (and) the height was greater than normally allowed (roof height).

Viper; you already know "28 of the 40" waivers, so no need for my explanation

Vette; already explained before about the non-supercharged 5.5L engine not in the street Z06.

Porsche; allowed to run a deeper front splitter and a rear wing that extends beyond the rear bodywork.

Aston Martin; previously was allowed to run -5mm ride height than allowed in the class, had a waiver for 5 extra Liter fuel tank size etc.

If you wanna know things, do your homework. Dont put words in soneone else's mouth expecting them to do it for you. And dont question someone's truth without knowing it yourself. I got the nickname "trust" for a reason. Because you can often go by my word.

i was wondering that aswell. As the pinnacle of sports car racing, i think wec need to schedule their races so that they dont clash with f1, so they can maximise their audience viewing figures.

It was on the same day as the Chinese GP which ended a few hours before the Silverstone 6 hours began

Look at this picture and you will notice that Audi will have 2 low drag R18s!

The low drag cars are the ones with out wing mirrors! This is a strange tactic from Audi as they normally only run 1 low drag car at spa!

Well last year they did screw up because Toyota and Porsche were able to go if not just as fast as they were able to in the corners with their "low-drag" cars... Seems like they fixed it this time.

Well last years car was miles off the pace compared to the others. If the low drag works I wouldn't be surprised to see it later in the season like Toyota did last year!

I'm wondering what cars have the low drag! I'm thinking number 8 and 9. They wouldnt take any risks with the no.7 car, would they?

True...
I'm not sure what cars do though.. It's a hard picture to clearly see any paint scheme differences so I'll just wait for the race..

They clearly want more data with the LM spec.

The wing mirrors are housed in the rear of wheel arch/fender, and I suspect will be less than useless.

I understand that the mandate to have mirrors was kept in the '14 regs for redundancy reasons against a failure of the team's camera systems.
