Go Audi!

Watching the race recorded since I was at a birthday party yesterday. Wouldn't you know it? Faux Sports cut unscheduled for a foozball game. What absolute crap.
Yeah it was a complete ******* move by FOX, the rest of the race qas on their APP (which I have...because I know their stupid enough to insult racing fans). It was worse than them playing the last 17 minutes of post-race coverage(?!) from the truck race over the START of the Tudor race.

Please God let IMSA and the FIA buyback their TV contracts and have NBCSN do them. :indiff: I'm so sick of FOX I might buy the WEC season livestream package for next year.

I had a credit card in my hands twice last night but my anger at faux sports is equal to my resentment of the FIA and their pay stream so I put it away and turned on RLM.

I wish racing series would just go ahead and purchase the TV time with a network like HBO or Showtime. Run the races break free and sell some banner ads. Showing the WEC on FS2 is a waste of time and money.

I'd be completely for HBO or Showtime doing entire races ad free (or banner ads), I'd throw money at HBO and Showtime with a shovel.

The only thing holding me back from doing that this year is the lack of on-demand replays (I can't imagine it's that hard to implement). If they do that next year I will sign up without hesitation.

FINALLY. My gosh, and I'm guessing since Wayne Taylor is being talked to there is some actual Chevy Money involved. If so I feel they're allowing this because of Ford, so it took basically a tectonic shift of great magnitude (Ford actually coming back to international racing) for this to happen. Stay classy America...stay classy.

Especially since in the WEC, the only time (at the moment) Corvette is in Pro is at Le Mans. With Ford competing in the entire WEC with a 2 car effort it'd make sense that GM finally considers some sort of effort in the WEC GTE-Pro class, and I'm glad it's Larbre because their livery is epic. :D

And the inner nut job in me thinks maybe a 2 car effort in the WEC with Larbre would be awesome. 4 Corvette's at Le Mans? Plus the 5 Aston's?! V8 NIRVANA!

Well it makes sense that Larbre are the ones to run the effort, they've been a customer corvette team for ages. Also you forgot the Ferrari's they run V8s too and so does BMW.

Larbre have only just got a new car recently... Corvette took back the first car after the heavy Magnussen LM accident, and built a new one for Larbre.

BMW don't count. :P

With GM support it wouldn't be hard to upgrade their car.

But nothing sounds better than the Aston and Chevy V8's. Plus they aren't turbo'd...they're N/A goodness.

Besides BMW isn't making a GTE car (yes I know they're upgrading a pair of GT3's for the IMSA GTLM class but they can't go to the WEC with them...besides they'll never sound or look as good).

*GTD class.

Also Corvette better bring an upgrade package then, as GTE Pro cars next year are all brand new machines. AM is using the old cars (so this years will be eligible next year for AM whilst new GTE reg cars such as the 458 Evo / 488 , 991 Evo and new Aston are solely PRO class, am I right @Holdenhsvgtsr ?

I know fox sucks but I would not want to spend $120 a year extra on cable.

Correct next year the AM cars go back to being 1 year old.

Since they're GTD they can't. If they were GTLM they could because GTLM is the GTE-Pro variant for Le Mans racing used by Tudor. The biggest issue during the merger (one of the biggest) was the worry that it would be purely IMSA spec and thus teams that ran ALMS wouldn't comply with Le Mans spec but IMSA created the GTLM class to avoid that issue. Thought you'd know this...

Either way, GT3 M5 could possibly show up in GTE and that V8 sounds closer to the Aston and further from the Ferrari.

@Furinkazen, they'll probably have a new spec C7r.

RLL is planning on running the BMW M6 GTLM's next year right? Which is basically an upgraded GT3? Like the current Z4 GTLM is? That's what I was saying. I was responding to the fact of discluding BMW, when in fact I was just talking Le Mans and not IMSA.

It's too bad BMW aren't making a true GTE car for the WEC. While I hate the car and the engine, would have been nice to add another team in the GTE class(es).

Also, as the new GTE spec is an upgrade of the current one with the whole idea of current cars being able to be upgraded, I'd think it'd be "easy" for Larbre to convert to GTE-Pro.

M6 GTLM? Seriously doubt it at least in 2015.

Worth noting the new 488 when it actually works can be converted from GT3 to GTE. At moment however both versions are about as quick as a GT3.

But you didn't say that, and I figure they would but nothing is official or at least I haven't seen it in any one of the two threads. If you have something official post it up for me, but my point is that if a team is invited that means BMW are at Le Mans with V8 power. You claimed nirvana with just Vette and Aston V8 and that's called bias.:D

You said GTLM couldn't go to WEC, but if that was so then why do they get to race Le Mans, the WEC GTE-Pro isn't that different from the LM.

I was being distracted by being on eBay...so I apologize for my screwy writing. :embarrassed:

I'm a Corvette and AMR fan...of course I'm biased. :P

The FIA/ACO would never allow the M6 GTLM though, they don't allow the Z4 GTLM (even if it was allowed, it's so draggy that any team who wanted to run it at Le Mans would be insane lol).

So am I obviously but I can still be unbiased about engine noises at full tilt. As for the BMWs the Z4 isn't the M6 for one and two the car isn't running what it's sold as. The others are which is why it probably doesn't run in WEC anything.
