The GT just keeps looking meaner and meaner.

They already do (or did) via imsa.com.

I missed a lot of the races this year due to work, but I did get all of COTA and Petit. I thought last year they geo-blocked a lot of the coverage to force US viewers to cable, which really sucked for those of us that do not even have the option to get FS2 and FS-GO. Maybe it is open full time now, if so, I sure hope it stays that way.

The stock image on that video makes it look like it has two pass through's on the rear since the radiator/intercooler blends in with the pavement.

The new Ford GT reminds of the GT1 class, the long body style vs 458 GT3 or 911 GT3..

Posted by RT on the previous page but it looks awesome from this pov.

It's 1998 GT1 all over again folks! :D

Yeah you're on point, I'd say this car falls in line as far as overall shape with GT1 Vette CR.5s and Italian MC12s.

I think the width and just overall design of the GT is why, but also what brings it back to GTE/GT3 looks is the massive rear wing. Since GT1 had a lower and more narrow rear wing.

I'm guessing Liam Griffin is Aston Martin's answer to all of Ferrari's terrible AM drivers?

Fight fire with fire and such...

As far as I remember he's just another gentlemen driver, that paid his way in. Surprising he'd get the call to drive something of this aspect.

Porsche lockout row 1, Audi came close but start 3-4. G-Drive 1-2 in LMP2 and Ferrari 1-2 in GTE-Pro with Corvette taking pole in GTE-Am.

Stop-Press: Larbre’s pole time has been disallowed after the #50 Corvette was found to have a fuel cell irregularity (relating to the fuel cell ventilation valve) They will start from the back of the grid. That promotes the #72 SMP Racing Ferrari to class pole position.

On further investigation the part found to be outside the regulations is a valve designed to prevent fuel flowing back if the car becomes inverted. The part fitted is a standard fit to all three existing C7.Rs and has been on the #50 car all season. It differs in two principal ways to the alternative. Firstly one part operated a return block under gravity, the other (the FIA Approved part) is spring loaded. The Corvette standard fit part is not FIA stamped

How odd that a part that has been on the car since March is now illegal the day they take the pole.:odd:

Because some times the scrutineers don't check every little thing at every round.

For example a few years ago in a uk championship the team I was with ran a car with a carbon roof for the full season(was illegal but we misread the rules and thought it was legal) and we ran 23 races and it was only picked up on the last race as they thought it was a carbon sticker.

And ironically the carbon roof was 1 pound heavier than the stock roof.

Rule 6.3.4
The fuel cell ventilation system must include the following
elements :
- a gravity activated roll-over valve
- a float chamber ventilation valve
- a blow-off valve with a maximum over pressure of
200 mbar, working when the float chamber ventilation
valve is closed.

No mention of spring loaded for pole sitters only valve.;)

Nothing to do with the spring it states FIA approved, IMSA isn't govern by the FIA so that would be by the other C7Rs don't have it.

How come the C7.R's didn't get busted at Le Mans though?

Still think it's stupid an added safety device can get a car booted off poll.
