Would be happy to see the 78 win it all. But NASCAR (WWE) would never allow a team from Denver Colorado to win a championship

Let me guess, once upon a time Bill France Sr. was looking for a mattress and a shady man tricked him into buying a bad bed that hurt his back, and he happened to hail from Denver...

Yeah keep up the tinfoil hat stuff, it gives us the chuckles that we need during the boring weekends.
Kenseth almost made it to the final round last year with no wins. Hamlin made it and almost took it and it came down to one call on pit road. Edwards didn't exist at JGR. The 18 always falls apart. How does JGR always fall apart in the chase?

They never close the deal. Let's start with 2008 when a new recruit named Kyle Busch won most of the races that year...yet come chase time looked almost completely different (a bit of hyperbole) from the pre-chase self. Denny Hamlin a couple times looked strong and yet couldn't close it, and you also had Matt last year and the year prior...couldn't close it.

Now you have pretty much all their drivers sharing turns at who will win pre chase season and then you turn to now...you wouldn't know it. That's the problem, their team during the chase seems to have a fundamental loss of steam from others (SHR, HMS and RPR) who do not have on such issues as large of an occasion.

I already aggreed that the 18 goes into self destruct mode come chase time. 50% of the chase races thus far has been won by JGR and 100% of them with Gibbs cars in the top 5 too. Just saying, it's too early to say Gibbs is struggling. Kenseth's deal last weekend had nothing to do with "falling apart in the chase". I fully expect the 18 to falter. He may salvage it though. Talledega is a crap shoot. I don't believe it should be a chase race.

First, I never said they were struggling this year, clearly they are not. But early wins in round 1 of the chase don't mean anything now. Two of the four JGR drivers are currently in position to not make round 3, unless they either win Kansas and/or survive Talladega while some other chasers do not.

Second, I'm not sure you understood what I meant by "falling apart in the chase". As mentioned above, JGR has trouble closing the deal in the chase, they lose momentum. They fall out of contention either from lack of speed (not really the case this year), poor pit stops, or just plain bad luck. (flat tires, wrecking or getting caught up in someone else's wreck, etc.)

I'm probably in the minority here, but I like the chase and this current format. I'm also glad Talladega is put in there as a wild card. Wish there were more of those in the chase, such as a road course.

We're not in Kansas anymore... Oh wait, we are! XFINITY and Cup are at Kansas this weekend. It used to be that I remember when NASCAR Trucks raced Heartland Park Topeka from when I played "NASCAR Racing 1999 Edition" many moons ago. By the way- that is a challenging road course. Anyhow, this week is all about the Sunflower State. It's all about the fastest course in America's Heartland.

Good luck to all racers and teams competing this weekend at Kansas, and to all NASCAR racers across all levels of NASCAR.

Oh man, I remember doing the same thing! Whatever happened to them going there? I guess I could ask the same question about a lot of the tracks the three Series visited in the 90's.

NASCAR listening to its fans and drivers. Is hell actually freezing over?

Hell isn't freezing over, but:

How many Drift Points did Kyle Busch pick up with his slide earlier this afternoon? I've seen quite a few drifts in NASCAR at Kansas. Maybe Kansas Speedway should have its own drift course.

Anyhow, good luck to all drivers and teams at Kansas this weekend. Same for all NASCAR drivers in all levels of NASCAR.

With the low downforce package coming to all circuits, I might start liking the cookie cutters. :D Imagine the road cours races . An excellent move by NASCAR 👍.

Later this hour, NASCAR XFINITY Series takes on Kansas Speedway. Good luck to all drivers and teams at Kansas.

For this race to have been only lead by cup drivers, this is a damn good race for the lead right now. Hard (and at times, way too close) but clean.

So, that's two full time drivers Dale Jr won't have (Granted, we know where one is going at least). *sigh*

I realize sponsorship is more less how it all goes round, but I still hate the amount of drivers that just end up without a ride due to the lack of it.

So this very likely is gonna leave only two cars, whatever Elliot Sadler will be driving and the 88.

And they sign Sadler.

A driver who is, like Danica, good for nothing else then having a massive sponsor. I'm just waiting for the day when most of the field is replaced with 90% Danica Patricks and 10% Paul Menards.

Hasn't Smith been rumoured to take over the 9 if they show Hornish the door?

Also, I think JRM will have three cars next year as Jr. has said he wants to run Rhodes full time.
