NASCAR's not going to give Kenseth any slack. At most, I can see it cut down to a one race suspension.

Curious to see what public statement JGR/Kenseth will put out afterwards.

Tony isn't the size of him...and Tony has lost weight to fit in an F1 car which is a bit tighter than that of a Indy, so if he wanted to he could do it. People joking and slighting him off as if he couldn't is just silly. Also recent photos show JPM is still a little heavy, indy cars are not as tight as you think. If they were the Mario wouldn't be driving people around in a two seater.

I wasn't saying he was, I was just making a joke (mostly at Jimmy Spencer's expense).

I thought so but wasn't sure, which just shows he'll need to do something to keep money coming.

Yeah, Rob Kaufman pretty much cutoff the money train (Surprisingly, because of the Richmond incident) and that pretty much killed any chance for MWR to be back for 2016.

Jimmy knows he's fat,

Oh well wasn't like they were all that great compared to the other Toyota team. I mean not every manufacture (to me) needs a Roush and Childress playing second fiddle.

Is there a rule like the Pro Football Hall of Fame for the NASCAR Hall of Fame regarding minimum length after retirement?

EDIT: Looked it up and it's 3 years

I want to say 5 years.

I want to say 5 years.
Yeah, I found it on their site
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO BE NOMINATED/INDUCTED INTO THE NASCAR HALL OF FAME?
  • Drivers who have competed in NASCAR for a minimum 10 years and
    • Have been retired for three years or
    • Have reached their 55th birthday on or before Dec. 31 of the year prior to the nominating year; drivers may continue to compete after reaching age 55 without compromising their eligibility or
    • Have competed for 30 or more years in NASCAR competition by Dec. 31 of the year prior to the nominating year is automatically eligible, regardless of age; drivers may continue to compete after reaching the 30-year milestone without compromising their eligibility.
  • Non-drivers who have worked at least 10 years in the industry.
  • Potential candidates (for both drivers and non-drivers) with shorter careers may be considered if there are special circumstances.

Word has it that Matt Kenseth's appeal of him intentionally wrecking Joey Logano was denied. He's not in the Chase any longer. So uh... now what for Kenseth after this?

I'm a huge Kenseth fan but now the appeals have run out, it's time to move on. Same arguments everywhere. NASCAR's fb page is like this photo has 3,000 comments and they are all the same lol. I hope now that it's final Matt can be honest about what happened. Although, Joey never will. I'm sure Matt has a hundred people in his ear telling him not to. One thing is for sure, Joey will never cross Kenseth again. I believe that to be Matt's whole point suspension or not.

Erik Jones will drive the #20, not that anybody expected anything different.
This year alone, Erik Jones will have driven the 11, 18, and 20 cars in the Cup series. I don't suppose he is going to get into the 19 car before the end of the season.

I think the only other driver that drove that many cars this season is David Ragan (including ironically enough, the 18).

I had the exact same thought earlier tonight!

I'll tell ya one thing, when he decides he's ready for Cup, he's gonna have a ton of experience behind him.

And its all within the same team, which will help quite abit. I'd wager he'd basically run away with Rookie of the Year with the amount of speed he's shown in everything he drives.

The fact that he was running in the top 5 at Kansas (?) in his very first start is an indicator that he will be one tough competitor when he gets to run full-time.

Does anybody at JGR have a contract about to expire? If so, Erik Jones might have his chance.

You know what? Furniture Row MIGHT be (or so I thought I heard) expanding to a second car AND they are switching to Toyota (which means automatically resource sharing from JGR). Perhaps THAT might be his chance?
