So...why did they even steal it if they were just gonna leave it? Doesn't look damaged.

Moreover, why of all the teams did they steal from this team? Is there some sort of black market for stolen race cars/equipment.

Perhaps but from what I've read on this, it seems that it was an easy steal. The truck wasn't big semi truck, the trailer was somewhat old too. Easy pickings compared to a team with an actual money flow.

So what was the purpose of removing horsepower and putting basically a restrictor plate on the cars for every race? Speeds are not a problem except for Daytona and Talladega (speeds would be over 235+ mph if there was no plate) so why now require them on all tracks? 215mph at Michigan isnt a safety concern.

Edit: Why is brad commentating?
They aren't using restrictor plates, they're using tapered spacers. The two devices work differently. Removing horsepower was due to them reducing downforce. That way the speeds remain the same, but the cars become more difficult to handle, which is what the drivers requested.

This season though. Has there been any other start to the season (bar. 2012 from my limited NASCAR following) as ridiculous.

I mean we got the Daytona qualifying what-have-you, Busch brothers out, Ragan of all people in the #18, what gives

Truck qualifying was crazy as well. They gave the pole to Brad before they realized no one crossed the line in time to get a lap done.

Everyone did the "let's stay on pitroad" ruse again?

They could at least run 3-4 cars on track at a time with them spread apart enough. The whole notion of "if you can see a car ahead of you, it can make you faster" is ridiculous because that's not how air works.

At least the F1 guys know how to get a lap completed in the allocated time... anyway, who do you guys think will win?

I'll go with Harvick just because.

Fun fact: The 88 in the Xfinity Series won and the 88 in the Truck Series won. Pressures on for Jr.

1st - Edwards
3rd - Hamlin
6th - Kenseth

Slickery????? DW just failed again

EDIT: Congrats on Mike Joy for getting the engine terminology correct. (5.7 Liters if you missed it)

The radar on weather.com shows the speedway as clear, but it looks like the conditions are getting worse.

Still waiting for a car's wheel to start bouncing down the track coming off turn 2.
