Didn't get to watch the race, but it's nice to see Truex finally get a win after coming up short on a ton of attempts this season.

Nice to see Truex finally get a win this season. Would have been nicer if I could have actually watched the race instead of stuck at work though.

Didn't see the race either but couldn't be happier for Truex and the #78 team. Well deserved. 👍

I'm hearing rumors of track specific aero packages for next year. Such as lower downforce on the cookie cutters, the same high down force package on short tracks and the road courses, and some talks of changin g the super speedway package.

How about no aero packages for next year? Take away all the aero bits, raise the cars about 5 inches off the ground and let the drivers drive. Who knows, maybe they would even have to lift and change gears to get through the corners...imagine that :sly:

That might have cleared the bump at Pocono this past weekend.

What NASCAR needs to do(imo) is what V8 Supercars does. Just have a control chassis/safety cell along with a HP limit and leave the rest to the manufactures.

I like the way NASCAR is run. They just need fixes in most areas. Which consists of (incoming list is incoming):

-Some tracks don't deserve two races anymore (Michigan, Pocono are examples)
-Less races on 1.5 miles (Charlotte and Texas, I'm looking at you guys. Atlanta and the others already have only one race)
-More short tracks (Iowa? Gateway?? Name others please.)
-More road courses (Road America and please oh please Montreal, cut your whining and come back).
-Less downforce (remove more than they already removed from last season)
-More horsepower (give them 100HP+ back, maybe even just a bit more, like 20, 25HP)
-No splitters (Gen4 or COYs era)

Maybe some things have been forgotten, but some of those have been talked even by the drivers. When the drivers agree with something the fans have been saying for a while, it's time to mkae those changes.

Hopefully Gordon can assume a high position in the NASCAR offices and fix some of these stuff.

My biggest gripes about NASCAR is there are too many cars out there at any given time. I'd rather see about half the field out there. Yes, tracks like Pocono don't need 2 races. More road courses. More power or equal to last season. Ditch restrictor plate races. Better brakes. Ditch the chase. Ditch Goodyear tires. That pretty much sums it up.

Give them back full power and bring back something like the "5 & 5" rule from the late 1990's. 5" rear spoiler (I believe they run 6" in 2015 on most/all non plate tracks) + 5" ground clearance for the front air dam/splitter.

OMFG BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

On a serious note, when I see Hamlin's interviews, I always think of a boring guy, but for some reason I believe he's a pretty nice guy to chill with.
