That's so different though. An entire crew running out to help someone, some cocky kid that wanted to act cool towards a Nascar great :|

Tony Stewart hit and killed another racer when he walked down on the racing surface after having been crashed. But regardless. Very, very different circumstances.

I'm just saying, after that incident NASCAR laid down some hard rules. To quote the rules NASCAR put in place after the Kevin Ward incident

"'At no time' should a driver or crew member approach another moving vehicle or the racing surface after an on track incident that prohibits the car from moving forward. The driver must then proceed as directed by safety officers and other cars ‘should slow down to a cautious speed’ as already outlined by NASCAR’s ‘Yellow Flag’ rules."

But again, they would have to give it to three teams, hell. I think they should get awards, they selflessly ran out on a hot track, when they probably knew safety personnel wouldn't be there for 30-45 seconds, that could have been the difference. Plus they are all relatively trained.

They did approach after that. There were still moving cars, many came to a stop.

Jesus Christ. He should be dead...plain and simple. He should be dead. Dale Earnhardt Sr was with him in that car. Thank god hes alive...jesus christ...jesus...I can not believe that. There's that shock feeling again...

Hans along with every other piece of safety equipment. There are some things even the HANS shouldn't be able to protect. If it was the Hans, great, if it wasn't great. I'm just glad no one lost their life.

Indeed. We had 3 cars airborne with all 4 wheels off of the ground.

Dillon, Edwards, Hornish Jr.

Edwards wasn't to worrisome, Hornish could have came down hard on the nose, planted and went for a ride. Austin, there are no words for that.
 
If you want to talk about eerie. This is even more so. From Jeff Gluck walking around the crash site...so crazy...

Can see how far they moved it back and how far up. Had the stands still been, like when Kyle hit. People would have died tonight.

As usual a stupid plate race results is a horrific crash. They're going to kill someone. And Nascar won't do a damn thing about it until they actually do. This is neglect. Plain an simple. It's only a matter of time before we have multiple cars go in the fence and we have an engine go in the stands. They keep playing with fire and they;re eventually gonna get burned bad.

To be fair, not much you can do with cars doing 200mph. Nothing to do with pack racing either, as that didn't send Edwards in the Dega fence those years ago.
 
Someone will probably update me on this, I was a bit annoyed that after A. Dillon was out of the car all the emergency and medical staff just stood around no one seemed to inquire or go and help the injured in the crowd from what I could see, I hope some did.

It has everything to do with pack racing. You get that many cars that close to each other going that fast you drastically increase the likelihood of sending a car airborne. How many times have we seen a car go airborne from this type of racing? I've lost count.

Nationwide series damn near sent a car in the stands a couple years back for the same reasons.
