Why limit that to just the flag? I think pride and stubbornness can be tied together in most cases.Pride... stubbornness... Pretty much the same thing in regards to the flag.

*Insert video of Chad Knaus F bomb here*Throwback display of southern pride?
Hopefully they will add speedometers with the display in 2016. It has been decades overdo with no reason to not have them.Kurt Busch to run the new digital dashboard this weekend.

First time a driver will use it for a race weekend.
They wouldn't be able to throw out stupid speeding penalties as much with a speedometer.MPH is not going to be included. NASCAR has their reasons... however dumb they might be.
I think it's for the pit lanes. It'd be hard to gauge speed from 6 glowing orbs, so I think they made it so the drivers can still use that, which makes not adding a speedo even more stupid. What's the 0-10 slider for? At first I thought it was a tachometer, but there is a RPM meter already on there.
For pit speed reference. What's the 0-10 slider for? At first I thought it was a tachometer, but there is a RPM meter already on there.
No, because you wear less of your tires.I feel that rule is abit harsh. Surely just slowing down accomplishes the same task as coming to a complete stop, doesn't it?
Agreed in full. Perhaps, maybe, remotely they may add them based on driver and fan input.Hopefully they will add speedometers with the display in 2016. It has been decades overdo with no reason to not have them.
1. where's that Chad Knaus outburst from the 2011 (or 12) Coke 600? 2. See above.MPH is not going to be included. NASCAR has their reasons... however dumb they might be.
Amen, it's like NASCAR management doesn't even watch their own races, or any other races for that matter. Though, this may require a retooling of the ECU's/electronics that NASCAR would inevitably be too lazy for. Regardless, that is long overdue from a safety standpoint.A pit limiter would be more effective.
TBH no one would miss ill-timed, often stupid pit road speeding penalties. Also, seeing as NASCAR is good at managing other pit road shenanigans, it would be interesting with a speedometer and pit road limiterThey wouldn't be able to throw out stupid speeding penalties as much with a speedometer.
A lack of a speedometer isn't "old school", it's stubbornness to modernize.
I'm guessing SOHC, though.Overhead camshaft motors will be coming in the year 2050 to Sprint Cup, mark your calendars!
