NASCAR is pretty much on death's doorstep. Attendance is down. TV ratings are down. France has run it into the ground. Its basically rolling billboards and fixed outcomes ala WWE. NASCAR will make sure JJ never gets that 7th championship. Clowns like Danica are their for ratings. BTW that has failed. And no talents like the Dillon brothers have rides because their drunken POP POP owns the team
If you are going to be such a negative Nancy, why post?
Honestly, let's go through this point by point.
"NASCAR is pretty much on death's doorstep. Attendance is down. TV ratings are down"
Attendance is down for just about every sport save football. Same with TV ratings. It's because of both more entertainment options then ever and by design- NASCAR is on FS1/NBCSN to help build up these networks. Ratings were going to be down regardless of what happens this year simply because FS1 and NBCSN are just not as big as TNT or ESPN.
"France has run it into the ground"
Not a big fan of Brian either, but he was able to get a huge TV contract with a declining and aging fanbase. Bigger then Big Bill could even dream of. And the sport isn't completely dead yet so at least Brian has 15 years of that now.
"Its basically rolling billboards-"
Irrelevent comment designed to be 'edgy'. This has been the case since the late 70's.
"And fixed outcomes ala WWE"
I dare somebody to find an example of NASCAR just straight up calling for a debris caution without there being "reports of debris" on the officials radio from the teams themselves, save for obvious stuff like bumpers or tires.
"NASCAR will make sure Jimmie never gets that 7th championship"
Right, because NASCAR rigged the 48 team to break yesterday.
"Clowns like Danica are there for ratings"
No, she is there because she brings sponsorship. No different from Maldonaldo, Menard, or hundreds of other drivers in the world.
"BTW that has failed"
See point above about ratings. You could put Earnhardt Sr. out there and ratings would naturally be down this year.
"And no names like the Dillon brothers have rides because their drunken POP POP owns the team"
Dale Earnhardt Jr. wouldn't be where he is without his father. Austin is also the only driver in the entire RCR family of cars next season to be a NASCAR champion, and off the top of my head one of only two drivers to hold championships in both the Xfinity series and the Truck series. I'd want Austin on my team over a lot of people in the garage.

I'd say his chances with the old system compared to the current is probably better

Wait, what? Dale's chances would be better if he was down 72 points to the top 2 drivers, instead of being tied with 11 other drivers for the points lead? In the old system, only Logano and Harvick would have any chance of winning the title. No amount of Dale Jr. winning races would allow him to catch them. They would have to suffer at least two really bad finishes each, with Dale running top 5 every single week.

Not to mention all he needs to do to advance is win Talladega, and with Johnson behind him as a big blue roadblock like he has been at the last two plate races it should be pretty easy.

Yeah cause as a fan...I sadly don't see it happening this year. Dale could possibly run top five every single week, and I did say lady luck would have to help him :sly:. Also that Ryan Newman bit too. I think at least him sitting in 3rd is a better option that as @BRRT_Angel put it best, it's a roulette as it is. Sitting third with no real competition close to you and just the focus of second and first seems better to me. However, I did forget they reset the points after each elimination.

Yeah I can see him winning Dega and Martinsville so maybe I should have some more optimism.

A 1987 Wrangler inspired TaxSlayer car for Dale Jr to be raced in one yet-to-be-named race in 2016.

So.. a retro inspired look in one unnamed race. Anyone want to bet against that one race being the Southern 500? :sly:

I think he will go way more retro for the Southern 500. He was basically calling out everyone to up their game for next year's throwback Darlington race.

It will probably be one of the first few races as that's when tax season is

I still want to see Jr. run the Wrangler livery again or run a scheme that replicates his dad's GM Goodwrench scheme. But yeah, that TaxSlayer scheme is probably going to be used around tax time.

On a lighter note: :D:D:D:D:D

If only they got rid of the stupid chase crap.

This weekend among the top three series, it's all about Charlotte Motor Speedway. However, no Trucks action until about two weeks time at Talladega. This weekend is about XFINITY and Cup racing the great Charlotte oval. When I was learning about racing back in 1999, Charlotte had that night race with the Coca-Cola 600 and then a day race later in the year at Charlotte. These days, BOTH Charlotte events are run under the lights. So it's time to see who'll start this second tier of the Chase with a win. 16 hopefuls are now whittled down to 12. And for me personally, I'm glad Jeff Gordon's still in it.

Good luck to all drivers and teams this week across all levels of NASCAR.

As of right now Hornish will stay on the 9 team next season. Really depends on what happens with Allgaier at this point.

Isn't Michael Annett part of HScott as well? You would think they would keep Allgaier in the #51 and send Bowyer to the #46 (obviously the #46 getting the bigger end of the stick because of a big-name driver), with Annett being released.

Annett has sponsorship, Allgaier doesn't.

As I stated before, you don't need talent to drive in NASCAR. This is just another example. NASCAR's death will be caused by its own greed. The Dillons based on"pop pop". Danica has her new sponsor. Go Daddy sees the writing on the wall. Putting your money into NASCAR is like setting it on fire. Annett has never won anything. And even though the infamous JWT finally won a race, he is still a wrecking ball. While I am at it I may as well put Has Been Sadler out there too. It truly is a joke, and fans are catching on. They're leaving by the the thousands at the track and the by the millions on TV. And I must admit I'm gonna love every minute of it

You seem shockingly confused with F1, NASCAR has issues and @BRRT_Angel and @GTPorsche and @Ganon83 all have tried to put this in perspective.

Also why follow this thread if you're just wanting to watch the world burn (NASCAR being the metaphorical world), seems you're trying to get a rise. Guess it's that time of the year here when we get one anonymous new user trying to derail the thread. What shall we call you...hm? The ICEYOU Strikes Back?

I stopped following F1 years ago. F1 is basically see which manufacturer can cheat the most without getting caught. Plus the fact that F1 never really caught on here in the US. So that being said, I cant say much about something I know little or nothing about

You are using this thing called the internet. It has an insane amount of information on it about the history of NASCAR and motorsports as a whole. I suggest you look up some of that information as you seem to be under the false impression that the things you are ranting about have only started recently.

For instance, race cars in general have been rolling billboards since the 80s, it's not something exclusive to NASCAR and compares to some series series they barely have any on the car.

We used to get 25 nascar rounds live here in Australia on free to air Tv, the new contracts have caused that to cease, and we dont get replays later on either, though i am able to catch some of the races that have been uploaded to youtube by Nascar themselves, which is a good move for us abroad, seems Nascar kinda understand there is a world outside the U.S.A, still they need to get the big bangers off shore for some races, but our ovals are so out of date now, and neglected beyond recognition,

To be exact, Annett's sponsors are paying more than Allgaier's sponsor Brandt

Who is the millionaire, you or Robert Stanzione? He's the head of Arris who is apparently so dumb he has joined last year and has already poured millions into a "dying sport" just to sponsor one Cup car practically full time.
