Logano spinning Matt after being blocked racing for the lead the last few laps versus Matt wrecking Logano out of lead while laps down three weeks later.

If Matt was racing for the lead and Logano kept pinching him to the curb yeah whatever give him the bumper, but no what Matt actually did was uncalled for.

They both wrecked eachother out of the lead intentionally and lied anout it. It's the same to me.
 
Meanwhile, no one is even concerned about Danica intentionally wrecking another driver. It's ridiculous how inconsistent NASCAR is. If wrecking the leader while laps down is frowned upon, then wrecking any driver while laps down should also be frowned upon.

Honestly, intentionally wrecking anyone shouldn't be allowed... but "boys, have at it" and such... :rolleyes:

Partially because Danica failed at intentionally wrecking a driver, and whether or not she succeeded or failed was irrelevant to the final result of the race.

That and her failing at it was hysterical.
 
I'm starting to think that Homestead might wind up becoming a demo derby this year. NASCAR hasn't done anything to stop the dumb driving, and my gut says that things will probably get even more hostile in the last three races.

You called everyone babies when the logano/Kenseth deal went down the first time then said that everyone didn't have credibility because nonody here races cup. Now you are pissed the 22 got the same treatment and you still don't race cup either. The 22 took out someone who possibly had a shot at a championship and today the 22 got taken out from possibly having a shot at a championship by the same guy. It's real cut and dry.
 
I am not pissed, and like I stated had they been racing for position with Logano repeatedly blocking Matt then fine. I would have supported Matt's decision to dump the 22.

Edit: Also checking the points after 'dega even if Logano had passed Kenseth cleanly and Matt finished 2nd he would have failed to move on.

Logano blocked repeatedly last weekend. Everyone condoned it because it was necessary. If you've never seen a block in NASCAR pay closer attention.
 
One final note for the night.

I wonder if NASCAR will revert back to the prior Chase system next year. The last three weeks have been Exhibits 1, 2 and 3 on how this setup has backfired on them. Frankly, they're incredibly lucky Gordon won today because that became a much-needed distracted from this whole fiasco.

I'd be shocked if they made any changes. I have no doubt that Nascar is high-fiving each other behind closed doors. Think along the lines of any press is good press. People seem to be talking about Nascar and that's just what they wanted.

No; being "very selective" would be cherry picking a race and track in which the entire basis is built upon blocking and pushing the cars around you.
 
Logano didn't wreck Kenseth at Kansas, he spun him after Kenseth kept blocking him. No damage to the 20 at all and it was his own fault.
Now the difference between Kansas and Dega? You need to block people to win under this plate package. Just ask Dale Jr. about that. You don't need to block at Kansas

At the end of the day though, this whole situation sucks for Matt, because now Joey looks like the victim. I like Kensith, I think he's one of the more level headed drivers, and he usually isn't a cry baby (not saying he was here, just saying). I'm glad he took Joey out. I know he's got fan support, and he'll probably have support of some of the drivers, but it sucks that he'll have to drag this black cloud around with him simply because he happened to be the guy who was in the position to send a message to both Lagano and to NASCAR. I can only hope both got the message and next year we can get back to racing....:lol: who am I kidding. I should really stop smoking crack.

The disparity between their situations at Kansas is what caused all of the animosity. Logano was already locked in to the next round, and had zero urgency to need to win that race. Kenseth was down because of an incident with Newman from the previous week at Charlotte, and he knew that he was already in a need-to-win situation. Logano claimed to be upset about the blocking at Kansas, but he had enough time left and a fast enough car that he should have been able to make the pass without dumping the #20 car. Had Logano simply passed Kenseth cleanly at Kansas, this would not have happened yesterday. Kenseth could have easily handled losing at Kansas had he been passed cleanly by a faster car. That's the entire point of it all.

Normally I find myself in agreement with you in this thread, but not this time.

Yes, Logano was already locked in, but that doesn't mean he was going to cruise around at Kansas and not go for the win if he could. I doubt his crew, Penske or his sponsors would be happy about that.

I also remember Joey having the faster car and making several attempts at a clean pass over a couple laps. Each time Matt threw a block and cut Joey off, and 1 or 2 of those times running Joey into the wall. I can't fault Joey for having enough of that and moving Matt out of the way, I would have done the same thing.
