It looks like frustration is finally getting to Button. He seems to really struggle to stay positive in interviews. His tone doesn't exactly help it either

Considering he's enjoyed for the past 5 year the experience of cars he probably should have been driving when he came into the sport (fast good cars)...can you blame him? Now that he's back in what is nothing more than a trumped up Earth Honda but with a historical team as the backing.

Yeah 2014's car was a dog, but this is like a mudfish or something in 2015

Good performance from the Toro Rosso's. Hope they found some reliability to actually finish a race today. Go Max.

Nice to see Nico in front of Lewis, but I don't expect it will be the same after the first lap.

He should have known prior to this year that Honda will be behind quite significantly. Alonso seems to be dealing with it a lot better than Button but you can tell deep down it hurts him to see a bright red Ferrari lap him, every race.

It is very early days but just look at how far they've come. They still have all their tokens, albeit not a lot of them, to use so development for their power problem is still to come. I dare say they could be challenging the fringes of the Top 5 come Abu Dhabi.

Like I said they only have all their tokens for a couple reason the main reason is they don't have hardly any to begin with if you read the rules. Merc did a fine job making sure that they used a ton of tokens along with the other two but mainly merc, and thus Honda basically if I did my math correctly has 8 or 9 tokens for the entire year. If you look at what you can spend that on...it's amounts to as much as I said earlier as a joke.

Second it's a Japanese group and they're usually known for not wanting to say when they went over their head or in the wrong direction (plus all that money only to say it's a dud) and so they're hardly going to say..."yeah we need to use the tokens already". In the end they're going to try and make this work...how, I have no idea.

Rosberg did say he was focusing on qualifying after practice and with Hamilton saying that he had a bit of oversteer in qualifying that suggests that his setup is perhaps a bit more careful on the fronts which is what you want in the race here.

For now...if Rosberg has his usual sad starts then it's game over, and you'll have to hope that strategy makes this race exciting.
With such a long run down to turn 1, if he does that, he'll be swallowed by Vettel and Bottas.

Should be a close race between the mid-pack drivers. Hopefully the Mercs encounter reliability problems to leave the fight wide open. One can hope...

@NW48 The fight won't be wide open if Merc have reliability problems, Vettel would win comfortably.
Kimi or Bottas could give him some trouble on the way though. I'd rather see two Ferrari's fighting for the lead over two Merc's, we've had that for the past year and a bit and it's starting to get predictable.

hill and herbert on the grid were both hilarious and painful at the same time. Don't know how i feel about that at all :p

Maldonado and Grosjean touch... but Grosjean already looked like he was struggling with the car.

Button is saying his rears are gone.

And the cameras continue their obsession with Carmen Jorda...

NBC just noticed the right rear wing support on Maldonado has collapsed.

Haha, at least it shows they're watching some of the race :D

In other news... it's Hammer Time, we're told.

EDIT: Very bad stop for Hamilton as he tried to undercut Vettel.

Hammer time has returned.

It's not affecting his performance, still sitting pretty in 7th after some, and I never say this about Pastor, great overtaking.

And Hamilton has problems in the pits.

And Hamilton has problems in the pits.

Followed by a super-scuderia-stop for Vettel.

EDIT: Inspection of Maldonado's rear-wing remnants but the car's allowed to go. Maybe a meatball for that?

And another race that I'm forced to miss because the muppets at Channel Ten did a split deal with FOXTEL less than a month before the Australian Grand Prix, and now I have to wait for a satellite dish to be installed.

2.3secs is impressive.

Lotus just rips the end plate off Pastor's car.

They clearly think (hope?) that the centre and left supports give enough strength. I wonder if Race Control will feel the same?

I'm really surprised that Race Direction isn't intervening about Maldonado's wing. If it's going to collapse, it'll be on the main straight at 330 km/h. Unbelievably dangerous.

As long as it doesn't move around too much, I can't see them caring about what they do with it. It's gotta be hurting Maldonado though.

Grosjean being told to lift when you use the bad gear (4th) or you'll blow the engine up.

Alonso has gone way past his pitbox.

Just misses the Jackman and is told to switch the car off and retire.
