May as well use the All Star Race as as close to a racing situation test as possible without implementing it into a points paying race. As long as it involves removing even more aerodynamic advantage, then I'm for changes

"And 19 of the 25 drivers will be using tricycles for the race...."
They better be selling Girl Scout Cookies at the same time.

EDIT:

101 laps
Round 1, 32 laps: Invert the field
Round 2, 26 laps: Say nice things about Brian France
Final Round, 43 laps: Winner gets a Chase berth

I would totally watch this just for segment 2 alone

96 laps
Round 1, 31 laps: Hauler drivers race the cars
Round 2, 12 laps: Only green flag laps count
Round 3, 11 laps: Finishing positions inverted
Final Round, 42 laps: Digital dash is another car's dash

121 laps
Round 1, 25 laps: Invert the field
Round 2, 44 laps: Second place finisher is eliminated
Round 3, 3 laps: Digital dash is another car's dash
Final Round, 49 laps: Racetrack and pit road speed limits switched
New Format

I still would pay to see an All Star with the Say nice things about Brian France rule. That would be comedic gold on the radio. I really, really want to see that now.

This one is nice:
Round 1, 9 laps: Cars start with total blockage of the front grilles with debris
Round 2, 9 laps: Only odd-numbered finishers advance
Round 3, 30 laps: Winner of previous segment gives car to Bobby Labonte
Final Round, 16 laps: Lights are turned out on the speedway

"I love Brian France, the contributions he's done to this sport have been so quintessential" - Tony Stewart

So basically, a couple of Big names have a bad start to the season, and suddenly people are wondering if they're losing their ability in the car?

Sometimes guys just fall off a cliff, Bobby Labonte fell off completely after 2004

"Round 1, 44 laps: Only caution laps count
Round 2, 18 laps: Drivers are blindfolded and spotters must guide the drivers where to go
Round 3, 31 laps: Finishing positions inverted
Final Round, 23 laps: Eliminated if you fall below 150 mph"

Sometimes, drivers just need a change to reinvigorate their career.

Take a look at Matt Kenseth and Carl Edwards moving to JGR, Joey Logano moving to Penske, and Kevin Harvick moving to SHR. Those are all great drivers that had immediately better results after changing teams.

Can say with good certainty that Harvick was offered a spot at Hendrick next season, with Kahne probably being demoted to HSM to finish out his two year contract.
